Subject: PLEASE CROSSPOST! SW Atlanta....These dogs need help!

Hi everyone,

Would you speak up for someone in need that couldn't speak for themselves? If so, I need a little help. If each one of you could please read and forward this e-mail it may just mean life or slow, painful death for an animal. A very kind and compassionate woman in my SW Atlanta neighborhood has been fighting to get the illegal junk yards such as Perkins Auto Recycling shut down. Unfortunately, the dis"honorable" Mayor of Atlanta, Shirley Franklin, is in the pockets of the people that operate these junkyards behind the scenes. She has made it crystal clear that she will not stop them. She went so far as to renew their license even when the license review board denied them!

Anyway, they may be allowed to pollute the neighborhood, but they have no right to treat their animals in this manner! I know that if any one can get any kind of results, the animal rescue community can!

Here's the situation, summed up in an e-mail from my neighbor:

Okay, this is making me sick. This is how they

treat their dogs next door to me (another

illegal junkyard). I stood up on top my roof

to take pictures of this poor animal. They have

several like this; I just couldn't get pictures

of the others today.

PLEASE tell me there is something I can do

about this. Who can I send some of the pictures

to in order to invoke some sort of action???????

I know the City and the "Honorable" Mayor

will not enforce the rules and regulations

that they have set forth regarding junkyards, but

who the hell do they think they are

allowing these damn junkyards to abuse their

dogs this way?????????????????????

I have to go throw up now. And cry. It's raining

and this dog has no suitable drinking water (only oil soaked

water on the ground, mixed with anti-freeze and god

knows what else), and no food. Plus it's short-chained

(chain is shut in the door), and he's walking around

on all that broken windshield glass. No suitable shelter.

I watch this shit on Animal Planet every night and

it makes me sick to my stomach. The last place

I want to see it is next door to me...........................

Thanks for your pending advice. I really need it!!!!!!!!!

I suggested that she start by calling Fulton County Animal Control so that they can have a chance to do their job, but since animal control asks for your name and information when you call, she is hesitant. Also, if you don't give them your name & information, they can't follow up with you. Read below:

Hi,

I have not contacted anyone - I don't know who to call...

Here are more pictures, including a "map" with the

scumbags' address. I pulled the map from Fulton

County Online, which has the plat numbers.

The "so-called" business (???) is located at

1256 Murphy Avenue, SW, Atlanta, 30310.

They are behind A CITY DISCOUNT (restaurant

equipment supply company) and I think the

name of the business is D & K Auto. They work

with Perkins Auto Recycling a lot and haul a lot

of their crushed cars. To my knowledge, they

do not have any valid licenses or permits to

operate. I have reported them to Code Enforcement

on several occasions for their disgusting lot and

miscellaneous other violations, but nothing has

ever been enforced. They have all these dogs

chained up to cars and other junk and I am

infuriated that this is happening.

If they find out I reported them, then they

will retaliate in the only way they know - violence.

They are drug dealers and run a "chop shop".

Soooo, I have to be careful.

Thanks so much for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, here's what I'm asking folks to do. Please look at the attached pictures. Please contact Fulton County Animal Control and ask that something be done about this situation. Their contact information is:

Fulton County Animal Services

404-794-0358

Please ask that they go out and inspect the conditions of the dogs chained up at this address:

1256 Murphy Avenue SW

Atlanta, GA 30310

Even if you don't live in Atlanta, please call and politely ask FCAS to investigate. I'll call as soon as they open tomorrow morning at 8:00 am.

Thank you!
