i called myself helping a dog out, a friend of mine called and said he had a friend that had a female pit that she was going to have to get rid of the neighbors were complaining about this dog and they were calling the ac on her.so i told him i would check her out he brought her to me she was a little poor and she was also in heat when i got her so i locked her in a kennel the last thing i needed was puppies from a dog i knew nothing about.she is a very sweet natured dog very obdient and shes housebroke.well, what i didnt know until now is she had been running the neighborhood for awhile.my locking her up to prevent puppies was in vain. i am now the proud owner of not only the female but try 8 puppies. i dont have a cclue as to what bred her so now what. i was only trying to save a dog and now i saved 9. jmaybe this wasnt a good thing i dont know what to do with the pups i thought about a animal shelter but im still checking this out any suggestions would be nice.oh by the way he brought me her sister yesterday, no shes not bred she just had a litter of blue puppie abouttt 4 weeks ago i think these people were just about the money no love for the dogs

I hate to be a Jerk but sometimes we have to do the deed! Yes it makes you feel bad but what if you raise them and later down the line one of them attacks and kills a child or some old person. Unwanted animals make unwanted people!

I agree with slick, its time to step up and cull the whole litter, there's no way of saying what the pups are mixed with, and that could be a bad combination once they grow up. Cull and Cull hard

We're talking 'cull' the entire litter? All 8 of the pups? I don't know much about much, but can't they be taken to a shelter, fixed, and then adopted? I may be the only one who feels that way, but, give em' a chance. One of my 'pit/pet bulls' are from the pound. I think they need a chance. Just because a dog is from the pound and we don't know the 'heritage/ped' about the dog, should be all be culled?

there are enough dogs and pups at the pound, to add 8 more would be crazy IMO. The breeding is of unknown origin which can turn for the worst when the pups mature, i wouldn't take that risk of having the pups end up biting someone down the road

I'm on the fence with this but I totally understand that since their bloodlines are unknown, there's a chance they might be HA.

I agree too many pups. I can't justify culling them just because we don't know their background. I don't know the background of my rescue dog, should I cull him for that? HELL NO I am not going to. He is wonderful! I think they need a chance, that is all I am saying.

Yeah Andrew I dont know about that one. Like Boi said the pound is full of them. You could close your eyes and walk down the halls of the Ac here and point and you will be pointing at a pitbull or pitbull mix. Its sad, If you dont know the temperment of the dog it no since in prolonging the whole thing. I know here if they are not adopted in 7 days they will put them down any way. Oh yeah they wont even let you adopt a pitbull here in Clayton County....

AndrewYes the entire litter needs to be culled, I agree fully...for a few reasons......If someone wants one they can to the pound to get one and not line the pockets of another "banker"

They can do as they wish but I know what I'd do! Not waste anymore money or time trying to save a mutt that someone else is going to let run free and get laid again and have more puppies later. Thats what Anti-chaining laws do for you in your area! Don't chain that dog because its cruel but let that cur run lose and be free so it can produce more worthless mutts that people don't want to chain up and maintain! It's all good, I wish they would free all the animals in the F'n Zoo's to. Holy Crap folks, Cull these things and save us some local tax money.

abort and spay? to heck with that, burlap sack them and be done with it. Hate to sound cruel, but "those who can't drown shouldn't breed" No offense to you, your heart was in the right place--keep it there and do your community a favor. It only takes a moments courage, and its done.

its not always about the money how could you sell something you know nothing about.i was thinking more of the lines of giving them away but i cant do thisss not knowing the father
You ppl are just sick, sick, sick. You like to get all high & mighty talking about how we have dominion over animals but then you conveinently forget you're going to have to account for every deed you've done to them, to include "burlap sacking them."
Let me ask you, have anyone here ever gone through the horror of thinking they were drowning? I can assure you it is not quick nor kind death. If you're going to cull something, get a set of balls, man up & put an f'ing bullet in it's brain. Don't be some sadistic sicko & drown it.
Geesh, what kind of ppl do we have on ths board?

Geesh, what kind of ppl do we have on ths board? :rolleyes:I have been siting here thinking the same thing, I have NO PROBLEM culling, but damn .....being inhumane about it is one thing....doing it right or quickly would be the better word, as no one here can actually say what is and isnt right when it comes to killing, but I believe that the law says "quick and accurate" which DOES NOT include drowning, but to each his own I guess....if you can sleep at night and explain it later then go ahead....
Drowning is not quick, nor would it be something any of you would want to be faced with.......

Its sad when somebody trying to help, has to clean up, some other dipshits mess. Take them to a vet and tell them the story, and they will probably euthanize them for free, or very cheaply.
Good Luck
