A nice thing happened today

I went to the allergist today b/c I have been having a few problems w/ allergic reactions. Of course, one of the questions they ask is if you have any dogs or cats. I told them we have several dogs (& cats too for that matter) & of course the inevitable question follows - "What kind?" When I said the dreaded words "Pit Bull," everyone I spoke to drew back like I held a week-old dead mouse out in front of them or something. But when I clarified & said "Oh no, we don't have those big ghetto dogs. We have American Pit Bull Terriers!" Then everyone's demenor instantly changed from repulsed to friendly. Even the doctor said "Oh, the small kind? Those are good dogs."

I about beamed with joy. :D

hahahaha.....that is too funny. Crazy people. I won't take offense to the, "Oh no, we don't have those big ghetto dogs." lol

I think the "dirty" South has more blue hippos than us up here. We try to keep them true to form, baby. I meant "baby" in a platonic kind of way, ok Mr. ABK.:D

I get (and make it very clear) very angry if I see someone acting ignorant around one of my dogs. I straight out call them out and tell them that I am not going to feed their ignorance. I am not apologizing to anyone for choosing this breed. (I am not saying you were ABK, just saying, is all).

I don't think I have ever apologized to anyone for my choice of breed. But I will clarify to them what an APBT is & is not supposed to be! ;)

Good story. I am always careful to clarify that I fancy the American Pitbull Terrier, and amalways willing to explain the difference lol.
