I don't know how I feel about it...If it was a small enclosure, then I'd definitely be like 'that's messed up', but if it's a 100 acres or something, then I don't see the problem. I don't know how I feel about letting the dog's kill it, but I am also not familar with fox/coyote hunting....I am a bit leary about that lady's testimony though, because it's her ex-husband's place, so it might just be her way of "getting back" at him...Overall, though, I'd prefer people hunting them in a natural environment, where there'd be more fair odds, but I'd need to look into it more, because I say, "this is fine" or "this is horrible." Mainly, because we all know, the news can't be trusted to tell you the whole truth.

I agree with the question: why is she waiting until the divorce to go public?

It looks like we have more AOR allies (my little ditty: Animal Ownership Rights).

I thought it was interesting about culling quitters...at least they were keeping the best of the best to train and not just randomly turning out a bunch of snapping curs on foxes. That shows right there it wasn't all about "watching for blood"- these guys were testing their dogs. If they just wanted blood like she said they could go shoot something. Just the worry look in her brow showed me she was acting for a hidden agenda. She wasn't as upset as she tried to appear. ;)

I am not at all interested in hunting but will stand up for a person's right to do so. In fact, I view many kinds of hunting pointless. Yet, I am not willing to force my morals on anyone else.

In the beginning of the story it states that she helped run the fox pen. She then talked about how it was her duty to go around and collect the dead animals once the hunt was over. If she was so disturbed by it, why did she participate?
Seems like she is just trying to get the ex in trouble.

People do that as a come back at the other person. Cause them problems while the other gets the last laugh. Been that way always. I personally dont like the thought of the way, they go about it. Hunting should be done fairly.

I caught that on the news last night, and I'm calling BS. She was over-dramatic, trying hard to make herself cry, but not quite able to. I got the strong impression she's just out to get her ex. I'd like to know why she feels she needs to do it at the expense of the dog owners.

I'm not against hunting at all...NOT AT ALL. But if the report is true then it is a very chicken sh*t operation and all of them should be shut down.

That lady is so full of b.s. it's not funny.I have been to a few field trials as far down as S.C..In Va and NC you can hunt deer with dogs there are pens around here that are fox pens but also have deer in them.We go to them to break puppies and run the hounds when the season is out.I have a good friend that use to do the field trials with foxes.Every pen i have been to has had escape boxes for the fox to hide in so they can't be caught. Not saying they don't get caught every now and then but it's not the bloodsport she is making it to be.

There is a lot of BS to this story all the way around. I also believe in the right to hunt, but imo, that's not hunting. That's just like these big game reserves that let a tiger out of a box and the man,or woman, is right there ready to shoot it. Big game hunting my a@@. My idea of hunting is not done in a inclosure.

At the type field trial they showed it's not about killing the fox.I've been to field trials and pens many of times and only seen a few killed by the dogs. The field trials are more about the dogs they are working dogs they are juged on hunting ability, speed etc. The ones i have attented the dogs have to hunt the fox it's not just realeased in front of them. The guy's i know with field trial dog's keep what's good cull what's not just like any other working breed.

I know a few men who allow 20+ dogs to catch and kill the fox. That is humane. Two equally matched dogs, under a set of rules, with every chance of leaving, is the cruelest thing on Earth.

Not my cup of tea, but I support their right to hunt with their animals.

it looked to me like there was a lot of room on that paticular property and at the end they were talking about some places having a bear in there and other animals so if its a huge area and they are using the dogs to actually hunt the animals then how else would you preserve the lines like karelian bear dogs and other hunting dogs some people still use, that need to use not just a nose and have fearless atributes but be able to work in a pack maybe etc... if you dont use it and breed for it to preserve it you will lose it.... so if your dog never reall ysaw a coyote or bear or whatever you hunt even rabbits then how you gonna train it, if you have 1000s of acres closed in like she was saying then there isnt much difference than being in the open wild it will be caught before it makes it from one end of the property to the other anyway if its 1000s of acres....if its in a small area then thats a different story.... unless its like 1 or 2 dogs on a hog or something in a large pasture area I mean fair is fair and every animal deserves some chance in the hunt ...it cant just be like shooting fish in a barrel. but also the people who do have those places that do cruel sh!t and close up the houses for animals to escape and do whatever else to be retarded they need to grow up and actually breed their dogs for a purpose and hunt or whatever not do dumb sh!t... its about the best dogs hunting and drive abilities if you let your dog hunt all day and he tries hard to catch the prey and dont catch anything at all all day....and theres no blood shed at all... he can still be sucessful and watched to see his attributes, just by being willing to hunt and chase and so on.....so leave the escape houses open imo...if they catch it fair and square and hunt with the same dogs on a regulr basis then its cool. but not just for fun and sport and $ to make it a blood sport... it should be for just strict dog training and real life scenario role playing for real hunts.

I think you are picking on the wrong wing. It is the left wing that has been doing their best to strip rights away from lawful hunters for years.
