There is a recent thread on here about Tightline Kennels. I think It was 50-50 split on what people thought of that kennel. Good luck . I'll see if I can find the Thread....

im still 50/50 on the tightline, but the top side looks sweetIf you're 50/50 on the breeding...I'd look into something off of Eppinette Kennels (Boudreaux's) Rajun Cajun. He is a better performing dog than his tighline littermate from what I've heard. Talk to JC-Pitbulls...he recently got a pup off of Rajun Cajun, and ABK has a lot of info on that dog as well.
Here's a link to the thread they're referring to above...

thanks for the info. did anyone else think rajun cajun looked heavier than 35lbs? im not disputing his weight, he is a solid looking dog, but i would have guessed probably 10 lbs heavier.

Same here, haven't heard anything good on Tightline however I like what is behind Tightline. The top half is nice, my brother runs Frisco and a couple of crosses of Frisco and some of Mr B's dogs. They are some seriously good hog dogs. Who knows, could get something good out of that breeding but the red flag has been thrown on the Tightline so I guess buyer beware.

I think that it would be aproppriate to invite the the 2 breeders mentioned to participate in this thread.
To the OP, now since your asking about these particular breeding's .....are you looking for a dog or are you looking for a pedigree? I know ol Tightline has been around for years and he's a pretty nice guy to talk too

Thanks for all the replies, a lot of good information. On tightlines' website it is implied that he uses his dogs for hog catching. Its good to know he is not working his stock. As far as looking for a pedigree, I am looking for a good working dog first and foremost. In my limited knowlege of pedigrees it looked pretty good, and I've heard good things about skull x frisco crosses. I know you can luck out and get a good dog from any breeding, but I would like to stack the odds in my favor as much as possible. Thanks for the other breeder recommendations as well.

I have been speaking with tightline alot over the phone and hopefully plan on taking a trip down there soon. I can't form an opinion on him yet, but he has said to me that he does hog hunt. Hopefully the first week of january i will be heading that way. Im gonna go ahead and get my pup from a breeding of his and ill let you know how it turns out.
Tightline himself is a super nice guy, but all he did w/ Tightline the dog for years was breed the tar out of him & nothing else. Heck, mention his name on any Eli board & you will get either no repsonse or get laughed off the board. He even had to pass protect OWN message board b/c he was getting smeared there too!
Sadly, many serious dog persons consider Tightline & his dogs a joke. I've found the only ppl who speak positively of his stock are those who own them & that is likely b/c they have a vested interest.
I have heard Tightline has started working his dogs, but word on the street is he has only started to do that to restore some reputation to him & his dogs. And if he has, good for him. If he is, at least he's doing something besides seeing how many puppies they can pump out now.
But despite the poor reputation of Tightline & his dogs, Tightline dogs are still well bred dogs & b/c of what is behind them, potential is still there. But if you're looking for that blood, most serious fanciers are going to go to a breeder who has a better reputation & who is known to conistently work their stock BEFORE breeding the coullions off of it.
