Do you mind me asking where the pic came from and how you know that's the dog's name and not the breeder/owner?

the picture came out of a book The sporting Bull Terrier and this was under it

Jack Sutton, A K C 66348, is a specimen of the Irish Pit Bull Terrier. He is out of Sutton's Molly and these dogs in Ireland are classified as the Murphy strain. They are acknowledged as good pit dogs This dog was for some time at the head of F L Dunable's Kennels of Clay Center, Kans , but has been used for stud purposes only lately, and is at this writing at the kennels of Harvey Peace in Mississippi

I was just looking to see if the dog had done anything and was a worthwhile dog

I did see a pedigree on Jack Sutton, but it is not much more helpful than what you posted above. All I can really add is that the sire's name was Sutton's Tim. I guess because teir going back to an Irish strain at the turn of the century there just isn't alot of info readily available.

I take that back...I found another sight http://www.lamasko.com/pedigrees/index.php?id=2338 That is showing old Amstaff peds. The one I linked to is showing some good lightner, and colby dogs! Apparently, some of F L Dunables stuff went back to Colby's Pinscher, and there is alot of dunables dogs listed in there...I just searched for that lasst name in the sites search tool. Now none of those are jack Sutton, but its good to know what else F L Dunables was involved in.

They had Jack Sutton going back two generations looking like this...

<TABLE borderColor=#999999 cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=2 width="90%" border=3><TBODY><TR><TD width="100%" colSpan=4><CENTER>Jack Sutton

</TD><TR><TD width="25%">Parents</TD><TD width="25%">2nd Generation</TD><TD width="25%">3rd Generation</TD><TD width="25%">4th Generation</TD></TR><TR><TD width="25%" rowSpan=8>SUTTON TIM </TD><TD width="25%" rowSpan=4>MURPHY'S MIKE </TD><TR><TR><TR><TR><TD width="25%" rowSpan=4>MURPHY'S SUE </TD><TR><TR><TR><TR><TD width="25%" rowSpan=8>SUTTON MOLLY</TD><TD width="25%" rowSpan=4>MURPHY'S PAT </TD><TR><TR><TR><TR><TD width="25%" rowSpan=4>KELLEYS WHITE BITCH </TD><TR><TR><TR><TR><TD align=middle width="100%" colSpan=4></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I hope that is more helpful, and can aid in your search, or atleast jog a more knowledgeable members memory.

I have a few old pics of some of the Irish pits. They are a little smaller than the norm of today. Great info though.
