I've read quite a few negative things about Tom Garner and I don't know how much
is true or not, all I can speak from is personal experience. When I spoke with him and
dealt with him he was very professional and made the purchase decision easy. I did quite
a bit of research about my pup before I picked one. I can tell you he came through on
his promises and answered all of my questions and didn't try to shuck and jive or
screw me. I'm real assertive and will call someone out if they try and bullshit me ( being in car sales gives you a pretty good sense of bullshit!). He just came across as all business. I don't know about the Frisco semen thing, I don'treally care, all I know is he did right by me, I got the right bulldog for me.

I too got a pup off Garner a few mo. back. My dealings with him have also been nothing but good and helpful. So no negative here.

I have had a few partners deal with him that said the same thing. The thing about some people is that if the dog does not turn out to be a champion or meet the owners expectation they want to call people out. When you purchase a pup no matter what blood or from whom you take a great risk in just having an ordinary dog. I take everyone at face value, if you then do me dirty i am done with you. I will deal with you as the individual until we have a resolution to the issue. So for all those negative satements about the man, his dogs have made a place in history and you can not take that from him.

I think you'll hear rumors and crap about every "well known" breeder out there, Its been going on for years, even before the days of the computer. You just cant beleive everything you hear or read. Some people like their dogs, others dont and as put, usually if someone has one bad dealing with someone or doesnt like how they do things they run their name all through the s$%t. The best thing to do is like you did.. meat the person and form your beleifs based on that and not what others say..

one of my favorite sayings is "I cant please everyone everyday. Today isnt your day, tomorrow doesnt look good, either"

I like TG, but a few yrs ago were considering purchasing a pup, he would not send a copy of the ped or tell me how the bitch was bred...we declined to make the purchase.
The problem with the Frisco semen is legit...he wants Friscos ROM points to be higher is all, but the dogs being passed off as Frisco are bred out of Frisco...so to me...no biggie.
He is a nice guy and he sells some nice products.
But if I were buying a new pup I would want them to be ADBA registerable.
I guess someof his stuff is...not sure.
All in all he is a knowledgable gentleman, and if you can get him to share some of it with you...congrats.

Having the pup ADBA registered won't make the pup any better.

I Will Have To Agree With Everything On Here Except Jc. Tom Garner Is One Of The Most Knowlegable Dogmen Of Our Modern Day. I Have Talked To Him Several Times And He Is Really Nice, He Takes Time To Just Talk Which Isnt Common These Days. I Think That Someone Along His Business Time Has Crossed Wires With Him And Just Like In Politics, There Is Always Someone That Is An Advocate, Someone Will Always Find Bad In Anything You Say Or Do. As Far As Adba Goes, I Talked To Tom And He Told Me That He And The Adba Parted Ways As They Disclosed Personal Information Willingly To Third Parties That He Felt Should Not Have Been Disclosed. He Still Thinks Highly Of Them In Their Efforts And Legitimacy, But Started His Own Registry. The Adba Will Not Say Anything To Anyone About Anyone As Far As Knocking Them Or Helping Them. That Is Not What They Are Here For, They Are Here For Dog Owners On A Need To Know Basis, Yyou Just Can Not Call Em Up And Say Hey What Do You Think About So And So, They Are Not One To Gossip They Are Truly Professional. As Far As A Dog Being Adba Registered, I Think That The Registry Is One Of The Major Ones When It Comes To Pits. I Think That If A Dog Does Not Have A Registry Of Somekind That Is Widely Recognized, Well You Can Say What You Want To But The Dog Will Not Be As Valuable As One That Can Be Verified.

I haven't decided yet if I like the man, but I certainly have some respect for him. I don't agree with some of his philosophies, but he has changed my way of thinking on a thing or two. Don't ever try to argue with the guy; he always has to have the last word, lol. Love him or hate him, there's no denying he's bred some great dogs over the years. I have a couple of Frisco pups wrestling around in my living room this very moment; the first I've ever owned from the Chinaman line. I hope they work out for me.

Big River, I think you misunderstood me, i meant that the paperwork does not make the dog, its the heart that makes the dog. I agree that the dog should be registered so that it can be verified, i just dont think that it has to be ADBA. I use T. Garners registry myself.

I wonder what you guys would say about yourselves if given the opportunity. Some of you have openly stated that you never met or spoke with this man yet you are openly exspressing your views about him. Most of us don't know ourselves well enough to give an opinion on someone else. It's insane to me how some of you guys put yourselves out there with NO WARRANT.

I happen to like Tom & could care less what anyone else thinks. He's not my friend but he has always been straight up with me. He has a great wealth of knowledge that you would benefit from (or Probably have) if you would just Get your minds right fellas & focus on your dogs before you learn the hard way about HATING.

I can't wait til some of you get wise enough to develope a following for your line of dogs so you will see how it is to be slandered by novice idiots.

I have some Midnight Cowboy crossed into Frisco and very pleased with it. I get it from people that delt with TG back in the day and its good stuff. I have other lines that are just as good as well. I think if you enjoy it thats all that matters. Keep'em tight when you get what you want because someone else will like it to.

I'm with you Rockstar..Why leave a paper trail and having a dog registered don't mean the dog is bred like the papers say. Registering a dog does not prove anying.

I live in NC and have purchased several pups from Mr. Garner, if you want a true bulldog come on down to NC where the champions live and I'm not talking about the TARHEELS (sorry Duke fans). Tom Garner is a reputable man and all of my dogs are registered.

Rusty was surely right bout the champions living in NC. Unfortunately i've only had one dog from Tom's yard. Only prob was that i recieved him when he was about 2 yrs old due 2 legal problems. This dog was litterally crazy, he bit anything and everything from lawnmower tires, to trees, to his own chain! Everyone asked me where did i get this dog from and what was in him. After a few suggestions of what blood he was i emailed Tom and told him how i got the dog who gave it 2 me and sent pics. Surely it was some of Tom's finest work. From there I knew i had a Chinaman. I produced 2 litters out of him and my only regret was breeding him to a snooty female both times just 2 bring that snooty back on top. i have a pic of some of the pups...check my gallery

But about Tom i admire him, his yard, and what he has done. Will be lookin 2 purchase about 3 of his dogs this fall.
