caught a hog today

i went to a buddy of mine's house today to get my boat, well he's telling me about a hog that a guy he worked with seen earlier in the day, and had seen him there like a day or so before. so he talks me into heading down there and seeing if we catch it, hell it was only about 5 miles from his house, we unloaded the dogs, and was on it in about 5 minutes, it was a little boar with big tusks, i grabbed him, when the dogs had him bayed, didn't even turn the bulldog loose, my buddy tied him up with some half ass rope, i threw him in my truck, had my bulldog tied up close, well the hog managed to wiggle out the rope part of the way and was hobbling around my truck then he wiggled loose enough to get out the rope, and i look back, and see he's loose, and he tries to hit my bulldog, and i hit the brakes, causing the hog to slide foward, ole red caught him by the ear, and i'm there with a boar, and i'm kinda wiery about tusks being i cut a couple weeks ago by a hog. and i've got my breakstick in there, and i had it in there good, and i'm prying like hell, man he has some grip!!!! so i get him broke off, i'm holding the dog now, he's got loose somehow, holding the hog by the hind leg, he's laying down, so i got to do something, i tie red back up but i got him on a rachet strap accross the bed, so he can move from side to side, i try to move the hog, lose grip of red, he grabs the hog again this side on the side of the i guess you could say cheek, the hog comes around and i could see blood coming off my dog, the hog bit him on the lip/mouth, so now my dog has about 3 gashes on the inside of his mouth on the upper lip. he was bleeding pretty good there for a while, that hog was biting the crap out of him with them tusks. and he was still holding on. i know that hurt like hell for him, i know how them tusks feel lol....... i broke him off the hog this time, i look over the hog's mouth is full of blood off my dog, and there's blood all in my truck. and i had blood all over me off my dog, it was dripping off my hand, my buddy showed up at this time, and said damn i thought you had got cut again from all that blood. lol

we thought we had him tied, he slipped out of it, lol, fat hog, lol, it was chaos breaking out in my truck.

boogieman, i didn't have my camera with me, but we turned him loose in the woods by my house to catch another day, we going to train our puppies with him. i turned him out on the creek not too far from where we have our deer plots at, with plenty of corn, and hogwild, and soybeans for him to munch on, so he shouldn't be far. i'll take some pics of him next time we catch him, only pics i have are on my phone, i have shitloads of hog pics on my phone, need to figure out how to get em on the computer, and how the hell do you post pics?? lol. if i can figure out how to do that i be doing good lol. guess i need to start carrying a camera with me while i'm hunting, but that's something that takes up valueable pocket space, and something to get drenched in water, or mud, my phone is one of them razors and i keep it in a ziploc, and i hold it up while wading water, and throw it on the bank when i have to go in the water. the slim razor takes up almost no space in your pocket, a camera is something that would get in the way, when you;re lugging pockets full of rope, knives, hobbles, extra leashes, etc miles through the woods. and i always have my phone, so never really needed a camera, i usually carry a camera deer hunting with me, guess i could at least start carrying one in my truck huh??;) i don't even know where my digital camera is. muchless the usb cord to get em on the computer, think a dog ate the cable, and i just haven't worried about the camera. camera aint no good if you can't get em on the computer, but with my phone i've got it with me all the time and i flip it open and show my buddies you know what i mean........... damn i'm tired, i'm rambling, lol, guess it time for bed huh???

yea there's a couple places that have boars, but u can't hunt them with dogs plus they charge like 500 for a damn boar, f**k that.$500.00 DAMN hope it's a good size boar. That's cheap, my brother paid $600.00 and not a penny less for theirs which weighted 600lbs.

Y'all need to come to Texas here you don't pay to hunt the boars,us farmers and ranchers pay you,lol.i went over to a small small town to holt ranch last year and i got $275.00 for my boar.i would never pay to shoot something like that there just ain't no need to.i would drive to Texas or somewhere else in the south and get my gas money back,lol.

yea well its easy to say that when u have them flourishing in ur state. I have never seen a hog in the wild, but would love to hunt them some day either with dogs or with my bow

Well, I'm planning on going down south maybe in a few years. I'm not sure where but maybe some where close the NC or SC. But I know for sure if I'm gonna have more a lot of land I'm sure to have a boar farm.
