well, i couldn't put the page on here, but it discusses testing for brucella canis, or brucellosis. the importance of testing for this before breeding to another kennels dog cannot be stressed enough. brucellosis is a massive cause of infertility in dogs, both male and female. it can be spread to both sexes from either one. the site is www.ivis.org (http://www.ivis.org). look for brucella canis. there are more informational sites, but this one specifically details how it is spread. again, it is very important to test for as it will result in high infertlity rates, male and female.

thanks marty. a lot of people don't think that it is going to happen to their dogs, but it is more common than people realize.

I always ask for a Brucellosis test before any of my males are studded out.
No test, no breeding. No exceptions.
I also require a Babesia test to be done. Another test that not many people think is important.
