Southeast Bully Club Meeting & "AKC Responsible Dog Owners Day"

The word is out and it's official! We have set a date on our first Southeast Bully Club meeting. On September 15th, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the AKC is hosting "Responsible Dog Owners Day" at the North Carolina, State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. We have organized this to try to get a group to have a voice when BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) comes to North Carolina. Because of the Michael Vick (Falcons Quarterback) media circus, it's only a matter of time before BSL is every where. BSL is Breed Specific Legislation , where they crate a list of dogs that are illegal to own. They basically want to outlaw all bully breeds: boxers, pitbulls, rotts, bulldogs and any other bullly breed. Thats how it starts, small with dogs most people have a media driven fear of and then they will make amendments to the list every year and before you know it the only dog you can own will be toy poodles and other toy dogs. We must fight it now or lose our voice and chance forever. I am afraid b/c of all th e VICK stuff its right around the corner in NC be there stand up and have a voice please.
DO NOT wait until they come to take your dog to have a voice. This is a free admission event and they will be giving away goodie bags to the first 500 people. You can bring any dog you want to the fair grounds they do not have to be AKC registered. They will have training classes, dog obedience, and fly ball contest. There will be lots of toys and games for the dogs there as well. They will also have vendors selling everything from collars and leashes to food and nutrition supplements. After meeting there, we (those interested), will be going to a local dog park and having our first cookout and meet and greet session. We will have to make arrangements and find a central location to meet before we head out of the fairgrounds. If this sounds good or anyone has any ideas please let me know. Please remember you will all be responsible for bringing your own food and drinks. If you choose to cookout great if not there are many fast food locations in the immediate area. Everyone and anyone is welcome to come. All breeds of dogs are also welcome, but we are trying to socialize the bully breeds. This will primarily be a bully club which will include the following breeds:

A.) All Terrier Breeds
B.) All Akita, Wolf, Mastiff Breeds
C.) All Bulldogs
D.) Boxers
E.) Rottweilers
F.) Catch Dogs
G.) Ban Dogs
H.) Any other breeds that fall under the bully categories.

Yes… You can bring your German Shepard, your Collie, and your pound puppies. All are more then welcome. Your dog does NOT have to be registered with any group such as, AKC, UKC, ADBA, BFKC, APTR, ECT…

RULES FOR THE MEET & GREET:
1.) No females that are in heat, just had, or about to have a litter of pups.
2.) No dogs M/F that may or have shown signs of aggression (unless leashed at all times).
3.) There will be no staging, fronting, or any other type of attempt to show dog aggression.
4.) Please make sure all dogs are in good health and UTD on shots if possible. (You would want others to do this for your dogs’ safety do it for there's as well.)
5.) Anyone participating, asking, or trying to find out about dog fighting will not be ASKED to leave they will be TOLD to leave.
6.) If anyone is interested in selling puppies, dog products, T-shirts or any other DOG related products feel free to bring them.
7.) Please only bring a safe number of dogs....one person cant handle 5 of any one bully breed at one time reasonably.

I want this to be enjoyable and fun for ALL humans and dogs alike. So please use your own judgment as to just how much you and your pets will participate. I hope to see you all there. We will be needing a head count of how many people will be attending as well as how many dogs. If you would like more information please contact me via my email address.

Once again I hope everyone that is able to attend will, and I could use everyone's help to get the word out. Have a great day and spread the word.
