This is just a bit of a rant. Does anybody else have neighbors who are infatuated with their dogs to the point of just being creepy and irritating? I was out with Loki loose in the yard and Terra on the leash. (They don't get to be loose together. The only reason both were out is that I was trying to kill two birds with one stone.)
Well Terra was being goofy and not wanting to potty, Loki was doing her business. Neighbor dog was watching at the fence, not doing anything. Terra starts trying to get Loki's attention for play, and I'm trying to get her to focus on the task at hand. Neighbor dog barks, so of course, neighbors come out. Its the older daughter, some years younger than I, and her boyfriend with the freaky hairdo. Loki's standing a bit back from the fence just watching their dog. Boyfriend starts going "Huh huh, man, that's a cool dog, man." Then the girlfriend starts asking me questions...
"Is that one breed standard?"
"All my dogs are breed standard."
"I thought you said she had crooked teeth."
"Slightly." (Its true, but I'd only said it at the time because I wanted to discourage too much interest in my dogs, in breeding them, etc.)
"So... are you going to show them?"
"Yep, that's the plan."
"Are you going to put weights on that one and let her run around the yard?"
I'm starting to get irritated. "She's way too young to tell."
Boyfriend pipes up, "My pup wasn't much bigger than that and I started putting weights on him."
"Well that's stupid. Putting weights on a puppy will f*ck them up."
Girlfriend: "Man, I wish Nibbles wasn't a mutt. She's a good dog." Yeah, so good that she will come running up to a person full tilt because her owner is too irresponsible and usually too high to handle her.
I start really trying to ignore them at this point, as they're going on and on about how pretty the puppy is and whatnot. Thankfully they got bored and went in the house. I can't wait until we're able to move out somewhere. Unfortunately, those plans are delayed, but thankfully, they're not completely cancelled. I think I'll be walking my pups out in the front on leashes from now on when those idiots have their back door open.
