I've read and bought every old school keep I could find. only problem for me is that many are outdated. Anyone know where I can read a keep that was used succesfully in the 90's or this millinium(sp) . The best keep in mind is R.Lymm no doubt. It just makes so much sense.

If you have read all of the old keeps and whatever is posted on the internet or books, why keep looking for more keeps? Just take what you have learned and just create your own. I'm sure you have read over 12 keeps. I'm sure that they all don't vary by far....

them keeps worked well then, and trust me they will whip a dog into shape now just as well.but i do urge you to take what you learned from what you have read and make it your own.twist it up a little and see what sticks.don't be affraid to do that, thats how new keeps are made and go down into the history books.every great keep had to start some where,in fact thats how Don Mayfield did it.<LABEL for=rb_iconid_12>http://www.game-dog.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif</LABEL>

no kiddin you have to try one to see if it works or not... have you even worked a dog before?
nevermind i already know the answer.
BTW why would you put a UKC dog threw a keep anyhow?

I dont think you need a reason to do a keep, well... usually you need one but if you never did one, i think its positive to start some routine and explore what works and what doesnt.
We dont have any conformation show or stuff here in Spain (yet) but i want to try a keep in my dog when he grows just because i want to experience that and see how it works on my dog and learn from it.
About modern keeps... i started a topic not long ago asking for some basic keep so i could translate it to Spanish and use it on my website and i got an email saying all you need is winstrol and treadmill lol.

Keeps and conditioning dogs goes hand in hand with dog fighting as far as the government agencies are concerned, so I would suggest that posts like these are not allowed to happen. We need to be careful what we are asking in these times as anything can be taken out of context and used against APBT owners.
