During feeding time this morning, a car comes up our drive way and two people come out. I've never seen these people in my damn life and they start talking to me about dogs. Than they asked if I had any dogs for sale, I cutt them short and told them I don't have anything for sale and to leave because if you weren't invited to the house your not invited at all. So one of the guys says that a friend of his, who bought a pup from me a few years ago informed him to come see me. Again I told them, I don't breed or sale to the public and to leave. At this point I'm pissed off, my dogs are going crazy trying to get through their kennels and the two females I have chained up in the yard are jumping up and down. So, one of the guys gets upset raising his fagget ass voice and demands for my pup. Than I got upset and reached behind my shirt grab my 9mm which I carry every now and than. The guys see me reaching for something and they said "Aight YO, we leaving. We didn't want to cause trouble" Than they got in their car and took off.

Who in there right mind thinks they are that "GANGSTA" to come up to a person's house in the country side asking about dogs, raising their voice and demanding a dog? You have to be out your mind to do something like that. What they didn't know is, I spent more than 21 years of my life in the heart of Philadelphia and they thought I didn't know what was going to go down. These guys are a bunch of ROOKIES!

Side note "If your not invited don't think about stepping a foot on the property".

Glad to hear there was no trouble.

Like to see someone else excercising their rights with a CCW ;) (Glock 19/9mm is my preferred biscuit to carry)

You might want to go to your local superstore and invest in a CCTV setup.

It'd be worth your time to set up a camera, and get a vcr hooked up to the tv so you can record while you're gone. Make sure it has a good view of the front of your property and your drive way, incase they park down the road and walk up. Also might want to have one trained on your dog's chain spot. A motion sensor light might be a headache at first, but if your dogs outside are inactive at night, that'd be WELL worth your $$$. It's a great deterrant.

If someone wants a dog of yours or something inside, chances ar they're going to get it if you're not home. But if you are home, shoot first, do the drywall work later.

Hope you don't have to cross their path again.

I was currently laid off from working in Philadelphia so I'm not too worried about anyone coming to the house. I think it's time to invest in a fence shocker so the dogs can run around free.l

Hopefully it's all over, but more than likely they'll be back. Time to upgrade from a 9mm to something with more stopping power.

Thats why I like Pa. They won't be back unless they really want to buy a pup. (Which they probably just wanted to do anyway, but didn't know how to go about it.) Who's gonna mess with a certified heat holder?

Who's gonna mess with a certified heat holder?
you'd be surprised.

They might not be certified, but they're as unsure if you'll dischrage (if they know you carry) as you are if they will.

Me, I personally don't want to ever have to fire a weapon (withholding paintball guns) at another human. One, the cops take the firearm, two, you might've been operating within the law, but three, you're almost garuanteed to lose the civil case to the family of the departed.

Just make sure you operate within the law, and that you can recover and sight your target accurately without closing one eye to aim. ;) A lot of folks don't realize when the adrenaline's pumping, your eyes won't blink as a reflex, and it's near impossible to keep one eye closed to line your sights.

that's what I was referring to, but trying to be subtle...a barret's .50 cal sniper rifle. It will cost a few grand, but you can stop their asses from 3,000 meters. lol.

BTW, cocking a shotgun sends a clear signal, but readying a M2 (military nomenclature for .50 cal) is unmistakeable as you mean business.

Reminds me of the horrible remake, of Gone in 60 seconds with Nicholas Cage. They are boosting some cars, just get another one to load up in the truck, when some punk pulls a gun on them and tries a hi-jacking (in a car that isn't even theirs). The older guy beats the hell out of him, takes his gun, and says something along the lines of "You immature, no brained idiot. You wouldn't know the first thing about stealing a car!". When he walks away "Boy, you need a role model!"

LOL

Good movie, but "horrible" remake. It's hard to beat the original, and this one just didn't come close. With a different name, and story line, it could of been great. I bought it as a remake, and judged it next to it's predecesor. Computer Generated Graphics, and trick camera shots just don't quite make up for the real driving skill, and nostalgia cars in the original. Have you seen it? The number of cars they actually destroy, is astronomical. The last 45 minutes of the movie, is a multi-city chase, with some of the best driving you'll ever see. No gimicks, just a ballsy stuntman and cars tough enough to pull through!

I'll be the first to admit, the acting in the original is horrible. But, it's a car movie.

Hollywood made it a real movie, type movie, with a better plot, big name actors, and lots of special effects. Sold alot more tickets, and intrigued a much bigger demographic, but it took away from the integrity of the original with the cliche' role casting. The "villian" and the last minute replacement who doesn't talk, are perfect examples of what I didn't like about the movie.

Pretty decent movie, had it not used the Gone in 60 seconds name imo.

No I haven’t seen the original. I have that blockbuster all access and I am running out of movies I haven’t seen so I will have to order it. I would like to see a movie were there was actual skill involved. I do drag and autocross in my car.

LOL...I loose track of that from time to time. I was only half kidding though. People knew that a soldier raising a m4 carbine meant he was probably not going to fire. On the flip side...they didn't want to see whether he was bluffing or not with the M2. Actually, just turning the gunner's turret was enough to clear a path.

On the serious side...I'd still bump that 9mm up to atleast a 45. The 9mm might not stop a 200lb man at 25 meters...I have little doubt that a 45 would.

u really don't think so, comeon man if i was shot with a damn 22 i'd stop in my tracks not a damn 9, plus if the one don't stop the guy keep pulling the hammer, theres at least 10 more were that came from

If I did use a 9mm it would be a MP5 (fully auto). Also with a .22 the higher the velocity the less likely it will put a man down in one or two shots. For example, a Nato .556 round (fired from M-16, M4, or civilian Ar15) usually will travel through a man too quickly. If he's medium to large sized (with adrenaline pumping) and has to cover less than the length of a room he will reach you before you stop him. (barring you put one between his eyes. Also unlikely given adrenaline, it's probably night, you probably don't have optics sights on that handgun, and the average joe doesn't fire enough to shoot that well). I have experienced a man get shot 6 times (with a 9mm) in the midsection, one round rupturing his scrotum, and he walked to me bleeding to get medical treatment. He was not stopped by that shit. He lost his thumb, but lived another day.

You are right though keep shooting...it will take alot. Those are the realities from close quarters combat, and not what is perpetrated by hollywood. Men usually don't fly backward when shot and die immediately like in the movies. I understand a little about weapons, and to be better safe than sorry more than a 9mm is needed to reliably stop someone.

n.b. Having a uncle who is a lawyer isn't going to help you much in defending a civil case. In fact, representing you would probably be an ethical violation. Anyway, you can bet that the plaintiff will have a lawyer too.

In a similar vein, I personally would forget the flare guns, blanks, paintballs, etc.. If you are going to shoot someone, you'd be best advised to do it and not threaten.

Yes, these jackasses will be back again. Be prepared to defend your yard, to the extent that the law of Pennsylvania allows.

I mean free services, why not? :) Anyhow, this doesn't scare me it's nothing to where I was held at gun point while going to HS a long time ago and getting jumped while back in Philly. I never would of thought people would be so serious about dogs! I mean is it that serious where you have to rob, steal, shoot people just to get a dog that doesn't belong to you? People here have no common.
