Active X controls

What are these an why are that not allowing me to access the chat room. I know it has something to do with security setting, but damn if I can find it. Any help

In Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu at the top of the window. Then click on Internet Options. After that, click on the Security tab at the top of that window, then click on Custom Levels.... At the bottom of the window that appears it should say Reset to: with a drop down box next to it, click on the drop down box and set it to Medium. Then click on Reset and click OK until you are back in Internet Explorer.
