So hears the short end of it my 14 month old male pukes at around 4x a week sometimes more, sometimes less and has been for a while, i contacted my vet numerous times and when he went in for his routine shots she said it could just be the food.. However i was feeding him Fromm about three months ago and switched to Innova Evo and nothing has changed... Does anyone have this problem? He never acts sick, he just pukes and goes on his way... HELP!

first place your vet is a jackass ..get a new one.......it could be worms...could be wood or other things he may chew and swallow...my advise is find another vet..a good vet would run tests or advise an x-ray...it is not normal for a pup or dog to vomit three to four times a week...my opinion sounds like worms ..or non food problem

what does it puke up? is it when you feed the dog? other times of day? give some more details. ;)

he pukes up his food..sometimes just water but mostly his food.. The vet took a blood sample when i went two weeks ago yet i havent herd anything back. He pukes at all different times of the day, however never right after he eats. He pukes when he comes inside from playing on his rope toy, but i figured that was from his water intake so i limited his water intake when he came inside for the first 60 min till he was cool and not panting.

Switch his feeding up, feed at night and only once a day.....that will give his body time to digest his food (Idealy). You may try feeding from an elavated bowl.

He has an elevated bowl already, and as for feeding him at night, thanks for the idea im going to start it 2morro and wait it out a few more days see if that makes a difference.

What exact food did you feed him before Innova, and which Innova are you currently using?

I know you probably think I am crazy, but it leads somewhere! I promise!

He weighs around 58-60lbs and gets 1cup and 1/2 of Innova Evo Big Bites 1x a day..As for treats, we gave his raw beef/chicken etc bones and all of our neighbors keep dog bones to give to him when they see him. Before we fed him the Innova Evo we had him on this food called Fromm i was impressed with it but after researching on here i decided to try the evo. I know a lot of people have never herd of the Fromm so heres the link http://www.frommfamily.com/
Thank you for your help i appreciate it!!!

Thank you for your help i appreciate it!!! Well my first thought was some sort of reaction to the (meat) in the food....In this case, it seems to be chicken...(not necessarily allergic) just a reaction... OR...that he was being fed too much, but 1 1/2 cups of premium food is hardly too much for a 60lb dog...so that isnt it..

But now I see you say that neighbors give him bones when they see him...how often is this and what kind of bones...raw or store bought biscuits?

Does he go out everyday to play with his rope? Is he monitored?
If not, could he be getting a hold of something...a neighbor that may not like...(slight case of poison)

I dont know....But I agree...your vet is a JACKASS.....and you really should find another....

Someone had mentioned worms...parasites! i think I would be looking into that too...
Has he ever had a fecal test done?
2 weeks and nothing from your vet? I would be calling!

Another thing, if he is not vomitting right after he eats..how long is it AFTER he eats that he up chokes his food......
I mean after a few hours, it should be digesting.....if it is not....there are numerous things it could be....I would seriously look into finding another vet....

You should never have to ask anyone any medical advise if you have already been to the vet...he/she shuold have answered it for you, or explained the problem...when they dont or cant then it is time for a change....

Good luck with your problem, hope he is ok, and you get some proper help...
Sorry I couldnt be more help...sounded like something half simple in the begining!

Soo i just got back from the mall and i came home to five puke spots on the floor..=( not to mention hes now dry heaving.. I called my vet immediately and told them I was moving offices and to pull me from their file, I called another local animal hospital that i herd good things about and Im dropping him off at 8am for them to do tests... I am really really worried and if somethings wrong bc i waited to long my old vet will be hearing a lot from me...
Hes always monitored in the yard, we live on a big fenced in area, and when we go hiking/swimming he is always at my side. He has had a fecal test done in the past so im just really confused=( As for the bones the neighbors give him i believe they are Nutro and the other, i think IAMS. I really appreciate you helping me, and ill keep you posted, thanks again!

Sorry for your delima. I was thinking when you said that the vet had blood work done and 2 weeks w/ no word, I live in the country, and when my vet does blood work, 15 min. later(aproximately), I have the results! Good luck w/ the new vet, and I'd like to hear the issue you are having. Does your dog look sick/puny? Can you see it's spine?

soo i picked my male up later yesterday and i am still really confused on the siuation, they said his colon is larger than other dogs causing it to get blocked up, this feeling like he is full all the time and why he pukes... The vet told me they ran every test they could and thats the only thing she could think of which was causing him to puke.. So she gave him medication, and 2 shots at the vet which she said would help him, and in the future i should feed him sensitive stomach food.. So im extremly happy it was not anything serious, but to me this sounds rather odd?? Anyways, Does anyone have any pointers on which kind of senstive stomach food to feed??? Thanks

try emailing and asking these people...some dogs may require homemade home cooked food...certain grains may irratate the stomach...but if you ignored it... it could have lead to throat ulcers..its just trile and error..until you find out what works..

Well, if the vet said he feels full all the time, my thought is to not feed him once at night, but a little bit throughout the day. Maybe soak it in water first? I would think it would be easier for him to digest that way, but I'm not sure. Anyone else have any thoughts on this idea? Fearless?

Oh, and definitely tell your neighbors to stop giving him treats. Not to be rude, but just to let them know it may be keeping your dog sick. I'm sure they'll understand.

yah thats funny bc when i took him out for a walk today everyone saw he was home and came out and i told them the only treats he can have are all natural blan treats.. They said it wasent a problem and to tell them what brand to get and to let them know. As of today there was no puking, so i think we got to the bottom of it thanks!!
