Anyone heard any old wives tales about Labor-inducing home remedies? All I know is sex n' castor oil... LMAO.

I was due originally on Saturday, but they pushed it back to Thursday- I AM READY NOW. Anyone got any ideas?:D

you forgot lots of walking. Also when my wife was pregnant with our first child her amniotic sack burst early (at 34 weeks). The doctor forbid her from drinking Pepsi because of the risk of premature birth. Apparently, something in good old pepsi cola has a similiar effect to Petocin which is used to induce and augment labor.

No caster oil! It's bad for your baby.....Walk,walk ,walk some more. Clean the house again, wash the walls and the floors. Good luck to you and your family!

You poor thing....you just hang in there.....she will come! When the time is right...
And who knows the Docs may be wrong.....:D...you know it is possible!
Babies tend to not listen to doctors to well, they pretty much do what they feel like doing and WHEN they feel like it...LOL

You will be in my thoughts!

I spent one whole afternoon pushing the frig around the kitchen but my youngest, who is 40 now, still picked the time and place of her birth.
Good luck though!!!
The baby will come when the baby is ready and not one minute sooner without profession help. ;)

I thought they could induce whenever you wanted them to after a certain amount of weeks??? Thats what we just did, but the Doc knows best I suppose. Good luck & hang in there :)

I hear ya, I tried all those home remadies and nothing, he was 2 weeks late and I was so ready but when he did finally decide to come he was really ready. After the first contraction he was here within 1 hr, barely made it to the hospital. Good luck and savor your last few minutes of freedom, LOL.

I got a two year old hollering "mama" right now for a snack, A petunia APBT and a petunia GD begging for a head rub, and 3 parrots squealing for their afternoon feeding. Oh yeah- the hub will be wanting his dinner around 5 as well :p. Never a dull moment- better get that walk in while I can, LOL.

My first child came 3 weeks early after a dinner of Chinese food and a glass of mateuse rose the night before. Woke up wet and in labor.

Second one though was 2 weeks late and had to be induced at the hospital. I for sure did NOT appreciate the extra time waiting in the heat of the summer LOL.

I feel for ya LuvinBullies ;)

Induce labor the same way you conceived.

Just, um, take it easy. :)

I've heard marinara sauce (as in spaghetti sauce & the like). That's what they told me & all I know is that when my sis-in-law was about due, we went out to eat Italian and my niece Harmony was born 6 hours after leaving that resataurant.

Good luck!

I had Cole 2 months early so I have no other ideas.............

i've heard eating very spicy foods is "supposed" to bring on labor, and yeah, keeping busy, busy, busy. My son was 4 weeks early and my daughter 1 week late. petocin helped bring along my son, and good old Ma nature my daughter. so, i guess whenever "the time is right" she'll make her entry...;)
quick and painfree (is there such a thing????????) ....labor LB

well ain't much you can do other than just wait.now a days the doctors have things to induce you but in my experince with pregnancy you just have to let the baby decide when it is ready.been through so many births with the family i am just numb with it don't even panic anymore when i get a call that some of my family is having a baby.but i had a daughter of mine go over 2 weeks.and she decided since she lived close she was going to have him here in snyder,so her husband and her stayed with myself and my wife for about 4 months.well the baby decided to say hello the night that only myself was left in the house because of a ice storm that stopped up traffic wich left my wife and my son in law stranded at the wal mart.so i was sitting in my chair watching tv and my daughter was up stairs and i heard a horrific scream and i said to myself oh boy i betcha the baby is fixin to say hi.so i went up stairs and sure enough her water busted.so i called 911 but they said it would take about 2 hours to get out to my place with all the ice on the roads plus i lived off the main road.so i said well just get em out here as fast as you can.so it was up to me to deliver this baby now like i said i have been through a lot of births but never actually myself,so this was diffrent and since all i have ever delivered was pups and live stock i felt out of my area here.and on top of that my girl was hollering about how i was going to see that area so i told her girl i done seen that allready long ago ain't nothin new to me.so anyways i got the boy there but i was talking to the ambulance man when he showed up about 2 hours and 45 minutes later and i told him she done everything in her power to get this baby here on the due date and he said to me well there ain't nothing that a person cept a doctor can do to induce labor and after all these years i agree.so i say just let nature take it's course and you will have a baby in no time.
