I dont know about bats but I do know about squirrels. You take a sponge and put some fox or coyote urine on it and toss it in the space they took over. They dont stay long after that. The smell of something thats trying to eat them make them grab their nuts and scoot. It might work with bats too, but I dont know what eats them.

LOL. Bats. That is what you get for living in the U.P!! Kidding bro. I don't know if the urine would work or not. It may cause you to want to leave if the urine smells that much. The only thing I know, is call the exterminator. Not the Terminator, he's now a govenor or something of CA. My neighber had bats, the people came in, blocked off all the areas that the bats could get in, got rid of the current bats all for 250 bucks. If they ever get a bat again, they get 50 of their 250 back and they fix it again. They had bats about 6 months ago and have not had any since.
I do not reccomend shooting them, that may cause more problems, like holes in the roof.

You could call a person who relocates such animals. One was in my neighborhood today getting rid of squirrels.

i would throw a couple of bug bombs or golpher gasers up there..might work??????????or flash light ,ladder, and bb gun...might try sealing up the holes at night after they leave..but before they are back in the morning..

You could call a person who relocates such animals. One was in my neighborhood today getting rid of squirrels.squirrels are easy ..you just tie a peanut to a rat trap..just thought of something if you put a light in the area and turned it on at night..they would be forced to relocate..they hate light..send them to the neighbors house.

tennis racket works for bats.
*whack*
knock em down, put a pellet in their dome. a crossman pump air-gun works nice.
...send them to the neighbors house.lmao @ that one! http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/happy0028.gif

When we lived in town, we had one of the worst bat infestations I'd ever seen.
What worked for us, was a close family friend, who was born in Mexico and laughed at bats when we ducked with rackets. He climbed onto the roof, tied a rope around his waist and to the chimney. Took off the screen we installed to keep all of them in, and removed some bricks. Started grabbing them with his bare hands, snapping their neck, and throwing them on the roof. I kid you not, there was a pile of a couple hundered dead bats. We were rustling them up from the bottom. What made it past him, was out of a home. We wrapped all openings in the house with multiple layers of screen mesh.
Rackets work well for whatever makes it into the living quarters, but really isn't feasible for a large number of inhabitants. Unless of course, you have a 5' circumference racket, and a protective suit.
So long as they are dwelling during the day, there shouldn't be much risk of rabies. This year, the number of rabid bats found in our county, is astronomical. Something like we used back then, is really not safe now imo. I'm sure there may be exterminators with special tricks, but they are going to cost you much more than a nice dinner and a 12 pack :p

i have heard that if you get some insects and kill them and load them with some kind of poison that gets rid of bats because they die after they eat them.but i don't know for sure because i never dealt with bats before.what you could do is why they are sleeping go up there and run em through with a knife or the like or take a lighter and a big can of hair spray and flame them but that depends on the risk of setting your home on fire by where they roost at.myself i would get in a jump suit get a ski mask on and gloves and when they are asleep sneak up and see if i could just stab em and take them out one by one.
