thanks-BryceI noticed my dogs back, and hind legs got stronger after a a few hard weeks on the spring pole. Make sure he always has his back legs on the ground. I'm sure there are more methods to accomplish what you're after though. It worked for my male. Pm me for more details.

Up hill retrieves and if you have access to water shallow water retrieves works great for building muscle and stamina.

I really don't like the springpole too much these days, there are better ways to acheive the look, with the performance to follow as is needed in hog-hunting. Dragging light weight on a working harness, and other forms of resistance work.

When Loki started training for weight pull, she gained a lot of definition in her hindquarters.

I'm with 14rock on the springpole. IMO the springpole is more for fun exercise & shouldn't be used as a conditioning tool.
To obtain a nice tuck, you need to do some roadwork with your dog. Put on your sneakers, grab a leash, & go. Start with nice long walks 5 days a week with 1 rest day on the weekend & another sometime during the week. After that, start mixing up the walk with several jogging increments. Then go for jogs.
You want to build hindquarters, find out where the local cross country teams run & take your dog there. It's natural uneven terrain & perfect for working all the muscles. Some light weight pull will help as well
Also feed your dog the proper amount of a good/great quality kibble. Cheap foods with lots of fillers tend to keep a lot of fat on dogs.
Remember that you need to build your dog up slowly with any & all exercise!

Damn, maybe I should contact my local cross country team and have them walk the dog for me. That would work out great. LOL

My girl loves stairs, works wonders. Got compliments on her hind end from G. Hammond and Norrod at the last show.

No, Blitz my blue whale LOL. I'll have to take some better pictures, my daughter took the one in my gallery and it doesn't really show the definition.
