Something I stumbled across a long while ago, liked so much I saved, and forgot about it. Just (re) found it, and figured I'd share. Since I have long lost who wrote it, I cannot give credit where it is due, and I will edit out specific dog names. It is not my writing, or my tribute. Alas,

If my time has come
Then I'll gamely pack it in,

For I have made my owner smile
thus putting frowns on many men,

Yes, I loved to bark
and yes I loved to dig,

But I especially loved the box
Where my heart grew so big,

So for me light no candles
And burn no oils,

For today someone has stopped me
And to the winner I leave the spoils,
