A quick online reference with some information on history and bloodlines is www.riospitbull.com (http://www.riospitbull.com) ...there are hypertext links on the left hand side that deal with history, bloodlines, famous dogs, etc. Also check out www.therealpitbull.com (http://www.therealpitbull.com), and www.workingpitbull.com (http://www.workingpitbull.com) (those two also have information regarding responsible breeding as per another thread that you posted)there is general history/information contained on those two. There are also alot of threads on this forum that will prove helpful.
As far as books check out This is the APBT and the World of the American Pitbull Terrier by Richard Stratton, and Colby's Book of the American Pit Bull Terrier (http://www.amazon.com/Colbys-Book-American-Bull-Terrier/dp/079382091X/ref=sr_1_1/104-3923600-8079927?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1182038633&sr=1-1) by Louis B. Colby and Diane Jessup
