I'll be picking this young female up Sunday. I'm really looking forward to it.. she's placed in a few shows as a puppy and has already been trained for weight pulling so I am really psyched about having a chance at this ready made girl. A big thanks to Rock for pointing me towards her, and a Big thanks to PMK for giving me a chance to get her. I'll be posting some pics up when I get her home.

Nice Lookin Girl. Good luck with her.
Nice looking pup NC.
But I hope they told you the pup's momma is a double merle! Look on the ped & see for yourself. White Diamond is listed as "white" but both of Diamond's parents are merles, thus making Diamond a double merle.
Many double merles are white or nearly so, so her being listed as white probably was an honest mistake. But she isn't white. So you might want to steel yourself for some problems down the road b/c most double merles are known carriers of health problems.
This is why it is absolutely essential to do your homework when you buy a puppy, esp. one from merle lineage!!!!
Also, you might want to test the parentage of your pup. A double merle x a non-merle can only produce merle pups. Your pup is obviously black. So either that pup is a black merle or it may be of other breeding.
HOWEVER ... (isn't there always a "however" in these type of things?) I will say that merle can mutate back to non-merle. So your pup's breeding may indeed be correct. But this mutation only occurs about 4% of the time, so DNA might be a thought just to be safe. There is also a DNA test to see if your dog is a true black & not a black merle as well. Both might be something to think about.
Another thought too - since Diamond is a merle, once the ADBA finds out she is indeed merle & not white, her registration papers will be invalidated & if your dog turns out to be a merle, your dog's papers will be invalidated too.
I had talked to your pup's breeder some time ago when this litter was small & he assured me b/c of the possibility of health problems that the pups would all be staying w/ him. I guess he was blowing me a load of hooey, huh b/c despite his assurances to me, the pup is being sold & I doubt either Diamond or the pup has had any health testing done whatsoever.
It's stuff like this that makes it hard for the reputable breeders of merle dogs. :( :( :(

Let me start by saying thank you to ABK.. I've spoken with PMK and DSP about the dog and the merle thing.. He explained his side of things and we had a good talk and he had no problem with the concern or my questioning anything and I'm getting a different dog from them. He was very nice and tactful about the whole deal.
SOOOOoooo.. with that being said.. this is the dog I'll be picking up Sunday. So let me know what you think of her.. alittle bit younger 8 months or so.. ADBA and all that good stuff.. So without further ado here's Angel's ped.. I'll post pics next week of her.

Oh and before anyone says anything...LOL.. I know she looks alittle cow hocked in the picture.. but she's not its just the way she's standing.
That is absolutely wonderful that they were willing to work w/ you. I glad everything turned out well & do hope they tell any other prospective buyers about what's in their pedigrees in the future.

im curious as to the history of the first dog...
was he/is he a double merle or from the right breeding or whats really goin' on?

im curious as to the history of the first dog...
was he/is he a double merle or from the right breeding or whats really goin' on?The first dog's mother, Saunder's White Diamond, was a double merle.
The reason I made the comment about the breeding was b/c breeding a double merle to a black (which is what this breeding was) can only result in merle pups. No other colors should be produced. But the pup he was going to buy was black.
BUT ... merle can revert back to black about 4% of the time, so the breeding of the pup still could be correct. Or the dog could be a black merle.
That is why I suggested DNA. DNA can verify the parents as well as tell him if the dog was a black merle or a black.
However, since he is getting Angel it is all a non-issue now.
Whew! I hope I explained that well enough!
