A lady down the street has these four dogs and she said that they were Renaissance Bulldogs. Does anyone know anything about these? I have never heard of them and I tried to do a yahoo search on them and got little. All what I know is that they are huge. Any info would help. Thanks

Actually its "Renascence" Bulldogges. ;) It's just another new 'breed' being created by people who want a healthier dog with the same loving temperament, tenacity, and squishy-face, lol. They are trying to bring back the old look and altheticism sp? to it through other bull breeds.

Here is some info and the biggest kennel of RBs as far as I know...

I think they're gorgeous little dogs with a great work ethic. The breeding program seems to be very well thought out, the circle of ownership and breeding tight. I really don't know too much about them, and I'm forever the skeptic of new breeds, but from what I've seen so far I'm pretty impressed.

Personally I probably will never get one because they are a brachiosephalic breed. I don't want my working dog to have problems breathing (same reason I'm not a fan of the Johnson-type ABs), or even to tire out easily.

And PS: check out the dog Black Omen on the website posted above. He's a pretty cool dog. Talk about being able to work!!

I have actually looked through that site a million of times, I think his dog black omen is good looking. I have a question though how do they get that tri coloring or the rotty marks?

Good looking dogs, not too cool w/ them doing all that bite work... could easily be confused w/ the APBT to someone who didn't know (aka - the media)

I don't think the guy is doing anything that hasn't been attempted before.... my question is "why"????? Feeding an ego is my quess...

Good looking dogs, not too cool w/ them doing all that bite work... could easily be confused w/ the APBT to someone who didn't know (aka - the media) So it's not cool for people with APBTs to be doing bitework . . . and now it's not cool for people with dogs who could be mistaken for APBTs to be doing bitework? That's rediculous. Anything that looks bully is going to be mistaken for an APBT by the ignorant public. My Alapaha gets mistaken for an APBT all the time and once I find a local trainer she's going to be started in bitework. It's what she was bred to do! Her father is an awesome PP dog and she is already biting her tug toys deep and full in the first shot. It's beautiful. And it appears that bitework is specifically what the Renascence Bulldog was developed for.
