Calf Milk for Puppies?

I bought a pup a couple days ago and the owner of the kennel recommended putting evaporated calf milk into their water as a supplement.. I haven't tried it yet cuz i wanted some feedback on it first.. Anyone ever heard of this and does it work?

I dont really see the need in giving it goat's milk at 7 weeks...unless the pup is look'n rough like it needs the extra nutritions, I'd just give it regular food.

IMO there is no need to supplement with any kind of milk or formula. At 7 weeks of age, the puppy is old enough to be eating a good/great quality kibble & that is all he/she needs (and of course plenty of fresh water as well).

And as a note.. Goats milk works the best instead of Evaporated milk in the weaning or nursing stages. It has more nutrients even if it does smell horrible.. lol

I agree, at 7 weeks old if the pup is healthy with all its teeth there is no reason to suppliment with any milk products.

Cute pup , but his belly looks bloated in that pict, has he been wormed?

Yea at 3 and 5 weeks.. i was thinking he was like that cuz all he does is sleep, eat,play, sleep, eat, etc..

well if he's 7 weeks now...it's been 2 weeks since he was wormed and it's that time again ;) I worm mine every 2 weeks until they are about 3 months old, then it's once a month.

im pretty sure he isnt wormy.. checked his stool and all that.. but he has an appointment at the vet so they can tell me if he's ill or not..

if the belly is hard sure sign he needs to be wormed.to me that pup doesn't look like it needs anything and he doesn't look wormy.just looks like a over fed pup.more than likely the breeder you got your pup from was breeding for size? since she was gloating about how thr runt is bigger than the rest of the siblings.truth is you can give your dog all the supplements in the world and he ain't gonna get no bigger than god intended for it to get.just keep him well fed and played with and he will be just fine.

Even though you deworm, a fecal check done by a vet is ALWAYS necessary. Dewormers do not always work & they don't even touch other intestinal parasites such as coccidia, giardia, & other bacteria (all of which can cause problems).
