Not a pit bull.
I want to get my australian shepherd in shape. I know alot depends on genetics but what can I do to get her fit? I am going to start walking her more, probably 6 to 8 miles one day and then 3 or 4 the next(to give her a break) for a few weeks then start running her again alongside my bike for a few miles. I can work her on the flirt pole a bit too but I dont have a treadmill or access to water. What else can I do?

She is 2 1/2yrs 20in at withers and 37lbs(spayed), I wanna knock her down to 30 or possibly 28.
(shes a tad chubby right now, we have both been very lazy lately)
