Is it common practice for dogmen to have several different bloodlines on their yards that they breed or do most just stick with one favorite blood?Im asking because it seems like alot people who advertise pups these days list five or six different lines for five or six different litters,I realize this is probably just a peddlers ploy to sell dogs but,it got me wondering how legit dogmen do it.

They stick with what works. However, they usually have a preference and will stick with 1,2, or 3 at most...usually!

I agree. Branching out is something we are trying to do, but it's hard when you have stuff that works, therefore the old saying comes into play: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :D

it can be normal for dogmen to have 2 or 3 types of blood on their yard.and thats to see what they like and what works then as a rule they stick with that.but beware the ''dogman'' who has 20+ diffrent bloodlines on his yard that is done as a rule to just to get any money he can get from prospective buyers.i would say anything up to 4 would be normal enough but most that have been into this for a while already know what works for them and what doesn't.

Most folks will have at least 2 different bloodlines, ones that will cross well into one another when need be. I'd be wary of people who have more than 3 or 4 different bloodlines though.

Having one or two bloodlines is a norm. Testing out a few others is cool too to see what they are about. You never know till you do and try. Most of the sights I see are pushing pups in some form or another therefore are probably not refineing lines just expanding them.
