I have been reading posts on this forum for about a month now and thought it was time to introduce myself. I tried to adopt a little pit bull girl last summer and my wife wasn't having it at the time so I convinced my best friend to adopt her. We met her on the 4th of July so we named her Independence, Indy for short. She is a beutiful girl as you can see from the pic, if I attached it correctly. She has a few issues she is feafull of some strangers but once she learns she can trust you she is the sweetest dog in the world. She was rescued from Chester a town outside Philly, not the nicest place in the world. I am guessing from other posts I have read on this forum that she was probably "tested" at a very young age 3-4 months old and then thrown out when she didn't meet the standards whatever they are, she has lots of scarring on her belly. She has turned out to be wonderfull and she also developed a very strong drive. I don't know and will never know if she is game but I do know she is not afraid of any dog anymore and the bigger the dog the more she wants a piece of them, male or female. My wife has also fallen in love with her so we are now going to get a puppy. So hopefully I can learn a few things from some experienced dog men and women on this forum, to better Indy and help me make an informed decision on a new puppy.

Welcome to the forum. It's nice to have you and i hope you enjoy the time you spend here, and i hope you continue to learn and educate yourself, thanks to us.

As far as that scarring on the belly, scarring can happen due to many things, so i personally wouldn't even make an assumption about that. I'd just keep working with her, help her thru her 'issues' and hopefully you'll have a great 'companion' for many years to come.
enjoy!:)
