I'm wondering if anyone knows of dogmen in California? I live in Sacramento county and I've been looking for dogmen in the general area. I'd be interested in maybe visiting a yard or two, and learning even more about the APBT. California is nortorius for the big blue mutts that are bred like crazy here, but I'm looking for some real American Pit Bull Terriers.

I am also looking for a hog hunters in the area. I am curious about having my dogs tested, because it seems like a fun sport and I think my white dog would really enjoy it(once I get him back into shape!). Another thing: any reccommendations on where to hunt?

Thanks.

Thanks.Damn girl! Hog hunting! lol. You know I am starting pre-agility with Winston at WAG(western agility group) in ELk Grove on April 30th. You should see if there are still openings. It would be great to have another pit bull there!

Yea I've heard that Cali is full of bully style dogs. Seems they hit Hollywood hard lol. There's a guy that uses the name Relentless in Cali you can try looking him up.

Relentless? I'll trying looking.

Yeah, it looks fun LOL I'm currently training Ollie for flyball. My friend and I built all the regulation hurdles awhile back and I'm working on making the ramp today.

Ollie just hit a rough spot though. My other friend's dog attacked her about a month ago, and ever since she has been seriously turned off to strange dogs. It's horrible fear aggression, and it's sad to see. But now I am working with a trainer, and Ollie's first session was yesterday. She was barking, lunging, and growling at the beginning of the group session and by the end of class she had given up and was acting very politely. The trainer told me by the next class I should already be seeing improvement, and just work on the method she taught me in the meantime.

Caesar, well, he'd maul any dog he saw at an agility event! Ollie wasn't dog aggressive when I got her, so I feel horrible because it is essentially all my fault.

It is not your fault. It is their nature to be DA.

It is not your fault. It is their nature to be DA.Caesar was dog aggressive when we got him at 10 months.

I had Ollie for 3 months with no signs of dog aggression. I let her have supervised play with my best friend's dog and the dog attacked her. That is the cause of her DA--she was attacked and it is fear aggression to all strange dogs. She is perfectly fine with my personal dogs or dogs she already knows.

But now that she's starting to be DA towards strange dogs, there's no garuntee she'll be polite with familiar dogs as well. Maybe if no dog tries to exert an alpha position over her, she'll be on cruise control the rest of her life.

But you can't deny that being an APBT (she is an APBT, correct?) there's always the chance she could go after another dog unannounced at any time. DA is in their nature. It's our responsibility to contain them properly at all times.

Our pup Aubrey is 7 mos old. She was great with Colonel our JRT until about 2 months ago when she wouldn't let him dominate her anymore. That is why I'm finishing up her new house outside so she can make the transition to full-time on the chain. Of course, she'll still be more loved and get more attention than some of the kids that live in the neighborhood do from their parents, plenty of walks, inside time when Colonel is out in his kennel, etc. We'll just have to rotate the dogs. And when (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) we get another APBT this fall, all dogs dogs will be on a chain & rotate schedule.

Sorry to get off topic. I live in OH. I have no idea about CA doggers or hunters.
