Is It Normally Ok To Breed A Female Dog With Her Father? Or Would It Affect The Pups?

Any Help Would Really Be Appreciated.

If you have to ask a question like that in a open forum, you shouldnt be breeding nothing........................

If you have to ask a question like that in a open forum, you shouldnt be breeding nothing........................Ditto! You'll most likely be doing more harm then good plus I'm assuming your doing this for color since a majority of BYB's dont breed for temperment of gameness so it porbably be best left alone

how about facts. Ok now since you dont know mutch about that its best not to worry about that kind of breeding. Well it is common to do a fauther to daughter breeding to produce what you are looking for. Alot of good dogmen do this but they have years of experience. I have a dog that is a fauther to daughter breeding she is a good dog to me.

Just fartin in the wind here, but maybe they weren't planning on breeding at all. Maybe it was a plain simple question, because they saw someone else do it, or heard of it and wasn't really sure about it, or they saw it in a pedigree, or anything......Like I said....just a fart in the wind!

that is kindove what I was saying on my post about just facts. But lets see what everyone thinks. i personally dont see anything with a good fauther to daughter breeding aslong as everything works temperment gameness what ever you are looking for.

That would be considered inbreeding. Inbreeding is a toll which should only be used by experienced breeders who reeeeeeeeeally know their bloodlines well and what faults and issues can happen when the genes are doubled up.

It can produce the best of the best and worst of the worst and is not for the inexperienced to play around with IMO

Line breeding is a much more common practice

Breedng in general is a HUGE undertaking and shouldn't be taken lightly

Hope that helps answer the question
