my dog's grub... pup, chicken soup puppy. 1 1/2 yrs switched to hi pro, and now I plan to breed her. Wouldn't switching to purina one puppy be the best choice? Only major diff. I see is lamb as main ingredient and a 1% fat increase...basically. So, am I making the right decision or what?? thanks.

OK!

Switch back to Chicken Soup and get off that Purina crap!
BTW, you opened up a can of worms by saying anything about breeding your dog ...especially without explaining why.

What REALLY counts in a feed is the list of ingredients listed and in what order they are listed. What are the ingredient lists for both feeds you are concidering?
Just because Purina is a common grocery store feed I can almost guarantee there are ALOT of fillers and artificial flavors in the feed which your dog doesn't need. You need to learn how to really read a list of ingredients on a bag of food.

They have no meat all grain more corn than anything, and purina has animal digest in everything they sell. It does matter...I mean you wont find Timberwolf or Natures Variety or Canidae or the like at HEB-Ingles-WAL-MART-K-MART!
