yup. i just make sure to pull the stinger out completely, and clean the area, and then apply a "paste" of baking soda and water and apply to the area of the bite/sting, to help relieve the itching. i've used ice on the bite site to help reduce swelling, and i gave Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help with the itching and swelling, as well.

just be careful to moniter your dog for possible reactions, i.e, swelling, or if your dog seems to be having trouble breathing, is having trouble moving, or if he seems disorientated in anyway. if so, call your vet and do what he/she recommends.
just keep an eye on him for the first 24 hours to make sure, as mentioned, no reactions occur.

Yea, pests can be a bugger. I once had a female who got stung by an bee or wasp & her head swelled until it was literally the size of a basket ball & I once lost a young puppy to a snake bite. :(

This happened to Big Girl last year and I had to rush her to the Emergency Vet...She got bit and her head started swelling and then her throat so they gave her a steroid shot and antihistamines and kept her for observation until the swelling started going down (about 30-45 mins). I was told to ALWAYS keep Benadryl on hand for her because chances are...it will happen again.

Yeah, Loki got one inside her mouth, and her muzzle swelled up. Then later she had an outbreak of itchy, bumpy, nasty hives all over her body. It was horrible. :(

Last year Zane got nailed on the back from a hornet...i think. It was BIG, black, with white where the yellow would be an a regular bee.You could see where he got stung, because of the lump.Theres was no chance in hell of him letting you get the stinger out though.Just watched him for the next day or so and he was fine.A friend of mine and myself got stung by the same kind of bee the same damn day.My head swelled up were it stung me....sucked.Watch out for those little bastards....i had a hive in the tree i had my sping pole at.
