i have been having this issue with my neighbor for a while now! she has repeatedly called me and told me MY dog is at her house trying to attack her problem is 1 of my dogs is in my yard on my porch and 1 is on a chain and the other is in the house ! and come to find out another neighbor has a pit that is identical to mine and he runs loose i have repeatedly told (the owners) them they needed to put their dog up because if it comes to my house there is going to be a problem and that this lady is calling the laws on me well the lady that keeps saying that my dog is attacking her has called the cops etc etc and has sent them to my house and i have been explaining to them the situation and then they inspect my dogs and then they leave well the other day she called again same story i look out at my dogs they are all where they are supposed to be. so finally i told her if she is so sure it is my dog i give her full permission to kill it but as always i explain my 3 dogs are here at my house! So in this situation what would yall do? because I am fed up!

If you know whose dog it is...I would think if you went to her, very calmly and said look, I know why you have mistakenly identified the dog as mine since they look similar...but this is where it lives, maybe she will back off you.

Well if you have made all attemps to explain that this is not your animal. You have made your attempt to speak with the owner of the dog that is loose and causing trouble.

i say that you catch that dog and walk it off....i dont care what you do with it...provided its not dumped. Solve the problem...

I tried the very first time it happened and even tried showing her my dogs and letting her see they were not maen vicious or the dog that she was blaming this on and she started yelling screaming and crying so it has only gotten worse since and to top this off her chow mix came to our house and attacked my dble registered horse and did over $2000.00 worth of vet bills to her head and we never made a big deal about it just took her dog back to her house and asked her to keep it on a chain or in a fence because the next time it was going to be on her(vet bills)! and then her great pyrenese came to my house jumped the fence with my male dog and well everyone knows the outcome so we had to call her and have her son come get the body and not to mention we again had to pay vet bills on my dog and now she is giving this issue and it has nothing to do with me! that why I said I am as fed up as i can get and at the ropes end on thoughts etc.

well who ever owns the real problem dog would definetly be getting a visit from me and if we couldnt resolve it peace id have to call ac on him i hate to say that but who ever owns that dog obiously doesnt care about the breed i mean accidents happen but he/she repeatedly has to retreive the dog and still they continue to get loose so id have to
as for the other neigbor id have to say you still have the option to file harrassment charges on her couse its obiously not your dog and its a intrusion of your privacy to have cops at your house checking to see if your dog is still in your yard thats crazy what are you on dog probation or something i would give her one more shot go talk to her explain ITS NOT YOUR DOG and if she still doesnt get it well thats her own problem

I have visited both numerous times and what is worse than all things is AC says this is none their business out in these parts because it is out of their area to worry about! So the sheriff is the only one that gets envolved putit this way i took all my dogs to the sheriffs dept and told them these are mine these are the only ones i have and they are not HA and i gave them pics and they have it on file and it is all because of this situation! i have only one dog that gets agressive and that is at night and you can call his name and then he is fine and i really think it is because he is scared of the dark and the reason i think that is because when he was a year old he got attacked by a panther in his pen and i know for sure it was one the tracks were everywhereand he was F*#$ed (F@#$ed) up but getting off topic this lady is seriously a nuisance but i think her son may have disposed of the dog because the owner came a day or so ago asking if i had seen his dog and i told him to go ask the lady who the dog was bothering and that he should have kept it put up instead of letting it terrorize everyones yard

Someone's dog did $2000 worth of damage to your horse's head and you did nothing? I ran a boarding stable, showed horses and owned from 1 to 13 QH and Apps for 30 years. Not anyone I knew in all those years would have stood by and not done a thing to the person who's dog was responsible for inflicting that much damage. What will her chow mix attack next? Maybe I should ask what might her chow mix kill? And you did nothing?

NOT A THING! i was giving her benefit of the doubt her huband had just died she had just moved here she had no family that kept in touch with her at the time believe me the horse was messed up bad the dog got hit by a car a few days later that is why she got the great pyrenese dog. and now she has i guess a yorkie or shitzu or something in the house that is small and barks a lot!

Well...then, sounds like you need to do some neighborhood clean up.

If I had this problem, I would turn over any loose animals that were in my yard to a shelter/pound to be either claimed or PTS or re-homed due to an OVERWHELMING lack of responsible ownership in your neighborhood that will eventually cause problems for you and make yet more negative headlines.

there was a guy that last year got 2 pit pups and they kept coming to my yard and i kept telling him well they found new homes after about aweek of me taking them home and telling them that they where gonna eventually get killed (hit by a car, attacked ETC) and and he always told me oh you dog knows there pups he isnt gonna mess with them and problem is my dog does get fed up with other dogs and it doesnt matter the size age or sex and they do end up getting attacked and thats why took it into my own hands and placed them in homes i told the guy i did it and he said i didnt want them anyways!HE finally moved and he was such an ahole i am glad he is gone!

yeah, if you can't help the owners...help the animals...and I would rather see a dog/cat PTS than hit by a car or mangled and left to suffer.

I had this problem with one of my rotts. I had this one neighbor in particular, who would call about 3X per week to say one of my boys was diggin in her trash again. well, after the cops came to my house, repeatedly due to her calling, and seeing my dogs were properly chained and where they were supposed to be, the next time she called and the police showed up, i, again, showed the officer my dogs, yes, properly contained, and i then, walked to her house, WITH the officer and had HIM explain to her, that my dogs were in MY yard and not hers, and to PLEASE stop bothering me with this nonsense.
I don't recall the cops stopping by for a "visit" after that! ;)
turns out, it was another rott, very similar looking to mine, who was the culprit!

and i go through to much to keep my dogs contained and put up for someone elses to come to my house and then try to blame my dogs i would rather see these dogs in homes where someone gives a damn than to let these idiots where i live keep them and let them run loose and terrorize places

thats the other problem the owner i guess thinks it is funny if it wasnt that the dog bites i would try to get him and place him in a hom but it is pschyco and i believe the ladies son has shot him not for sure though because i havent had any complaints this weekend and the owner was lookin for the dog but who knows which it will be partially my fault if she did shoot it because i did tell her if she was sure it was my dog i gave her full permission to kill it if it was on her property messing with her but explained to her that my dogs where here at my house so im gonna leave it as a mystery on my behalf i warned the owner and he didnt act like he cared so i guess the best was done considering the dog was a hazard.

Instead of building a kennel for your dogs, build it around the neighbor's house to keep her in there.
