The spring pole is basically a toy that does work some muscles on the dog. However it does not condition for stamina and should neve be used as a main way to exercise your dog. Sure it builds muscles but it can also pull muscles horribly, they feet should be able to touch the ground despite what some say

Mr. Lemm was HUGE on maximum stress, that is what his keeps were based around. Basically, getting a dog's heartrate to handle "maximum stress" during a keep, so when the hunt came, it was not as hard as a training session was. Liken it to someone who busts their ass so hard in practice, the event itself is easy. To acheive maximum stress, Mr. Lemm was one of the first to really push the use of a slat mill. Slatmill= little to no resistance. Meaning, the dog is running naturally (or as naturally as possible, in a controlled state) thus, free conditioning.

At least, this is my interpretation of it, from the limited reading of his articles I have done. I think he had some good theories, but many of them were contradictory to what I believe. Most of it involves when he relayed how hard he was working a dog the final week, right up to the day before a show, and then treadmill work 5 HOURS before.

Especially since Nutro was part of that big food recal. But I have my Diamond on Innova Evo for the upcomming adba show in april and have had a good results with her. if you want to see, there are some picks in my gallery , I also posts a thread about diamond getting ready for the nj show. I only put her on this when I am conditioning her. This is jmho but I think she looks good. and that's what i need so i'm sticking with it.
