PLEASE HELP ME AND TANK I am a current volunteer at our local Humane Society. I took Tank in yesterday to be neutered. I had previously noticed a lump on his side an took him to my vet to get it looked at , And the vet (who I though I could trust) told me it was nothing but a forumal skin defect an was nothing to worry about. Well while me and Tank were at the Humane Society I had the vet also look at it and to have it tested well it comes to find out that its a " Mass Cell Tumor " And needs to be removed. She (Humane Society Veterinary) refered me to a New Veterinary that she said is the Best in town(in which I'll nolonger use the one I was using) Well now comes the problem that I need you for. I'm sorry to say or ask but I can not afford the cost for this type surgery that needs to be done on him. And for those of you who know me an stay up to date on all the thinks I do for the lovable speechless bully breeds You know this is the 1st time I've ever asked for your Help so PLEASE HELP ME AN TANK

(yet i believe none from here) good thing for myspace:confused: You know, that really sounds like a jab at the folks of this forum. Not to denegrade your personal struggle with this, but we all have veterinary emergencies. Nobody helped me when Loki ate a wasp and needed $300 worth of vet care on a weekend. My trainer friend who gets a new Pit Bull dumped on her everyday currently has a young dog draining puss all over the floor from a grapefruit-sized abcess, and a young rednose brindle puppy with an umbilical hernia that she took because they were going to PTS him at the vet's office, and a recovering mama Boxer who lost her litter of 9 and had mastitis and a respiratory infection. She gets little to no help with these dogs, all of whom she's rescued.

I'm glad your dog is okay, and that people helped you. I truly am. And if the intent of your message was different -- as it is hard to tell tone on the internet -- I apologize. It just really, really sounds like you're peeved that people here didn't send you money?

If you take on the responsibilty of adopting a dog then pay for it yourself, if you can't then don't adopt it.
When one of my dogs had a bowel obstruction I didn't go up on the internet crying about it, I paid for it myself.

really necessary????? offensive, to the members here, imo.

EDIT: to add,
and, the fact that you've written that you "believe" denotes to me, that you're uncertain, hence, 'assumed'.... again, insulting to the members here, and ESPECIALLY to any that may have sent 'something' in, on Tank's behalf, that perhaps, you were unaware of....

when you count your blessings, just be glad you get them. Praise be to God! Not all that ask to be blessed by the work of others get it. You got what you needed, the job is done. You should be grateful as it doesn't matter where, or from whome it came. Just like that old song "you can't always get what you want, but if you try some time you might find you get what you need." When you pray, and you get a blessing thank God, not just who he picks to help you. Count it as a blessing and move on, next time you may not be so lucky.

While I have empathy for you, I have to foot my own bills. And if I am gona give some money to help a mammel that is need out, it is a human. And here's a good question, if the dog is taken care of, why are you still taking donations? That does sound like a scam now!

Not me. I hate crying, begging and un gratfulness. Abolish welfare and begging and I will be happy. Get a second job if need be.

Before I would ask for money I would work night and day. I would rather cut one of my fingers and sell them. But Iam glad that his dog is ok.

Yeah, she's got a running account with a vet, and she's been spending a lot of time at home with the dog, who is starting to do better. They can't figure out where the dog got the abcess, since they couldn't find a puncture. But she's been seen, and the abcess has been lanced. She had a fever that spiked, and is coming down again. Its a real shame, because she's a beautiful black brindle dog, probably 35-40 pounds if that, and came to my friend in really bad shape. And she's just an awesome, happy, willing little dog who loves to work. We're all hoping she pulls through all right.

You hit the nail on the head. I have an old dog and his meds and medical care are quite expensive. You've just got to budget for it. And if I send money to anyone for something like this it will be a person I know. Neither I nor (I suspect) ANY of the posters on this board are what you'd call wealthy.

It is a brown spider similar looking to the Hunter and Wolf spiders. Toxic but not as bad as the brown recluse or black widow

Nice. Spiders. *shudder* We get these furry black, white-spotted spiders in our house. But I digress, this is going way off-topic.
