This happened here in my home state, MN...some sick man decided it was OK TO SNAP PUPPIES NECKS! Read this, I personally think he needs a much harsher sentence...

this was posted on my forum too. Bastard. I say one year for every puppy he killed. And the inmates can do whatever they want to him.

2 year ban? It should be a ban that he can never own pets again...not even goldfish....

People are so f*#ked up!!

I wish someone would open up a shelter where we could drop off unwanted dumbasses and if no one claims them in 3 days THEY get euthanized.

Of Course I am sure it would be at capacity in a matter of days.

LoL, I second that... I saw a sign at the pet expo the other day (please no one take offense to this, thought it was cute) "Dogs welcome, Kids must be Leashed" ...something to that effect needs to be put on these types of people.

No offense here, My son (who is now 16) could NOT sit still when he was little and was always trying to run away from me and so I leashed him with one of those things that goes from your wrist to theirs. I got a few dirty looks but I really didn't care I figure unless they were going to help me run that kid down it was none of their business.

But with people like this I think a choke collar might be better....

well i hate to say it but no matter what the judge sentenced him to (short of life in prison)he didnt do it because they werent pure bred or because they threatened someone,he did it because people who do that sick shit get off on it.Nothing will stop him from doing it againg. If the judge says he cant ever own animals again he will just continue on to strays or to animals owned by friends or reletives, what they need to do is send his sorry ass to the B.H.U.

From my understanding they wanted to include a lifetime ban but it was not legally possible to do so. Once he is off parole there is no way to legally force him to report where he lives. Once off parole he can just disappear and do what he will.

In a case like this it would make sense to me to have the offender put into a rehab program like those that break laws involved with drinking or drug abuse. Teach them that what they did is wrong and why. Anger management programs to learn to control his anger. Heal and teach so it does not happen again.

We are so quick to punish those without trying to rehab them as well. What will he learn from just being punished? Not to get caught next time.

Rehabilitation and education. Very important to changing his ways....

But I do like HighVoltage's idea too.....

Dry Creek, you are right and I think alot of times people become a product of circumstance and environment and can be helped...but sometimes they just have the devil in their souls so to speak and are just down right evil. People who hurt kids and animals have SERIOUS issues.

Its kind of hard to judge who can and cannot benefit from a second chance (especially without knowing them)...but I tell you, my opinion is if they DO get a second chance and screw it up too, I don't want to waste my taxes on them any more... be it supporting them in prison, welfare, or any other way.

When you hit rock bottom, to me the only way to go is up...and if they choose to keep digging down, then I wish them well in getting to THAT destination in which they are digging.

I get very angry as well, but I have a fascination with human psychology and try to understand what created the issue. I want to understand why it happened. I'm by no means saying that all who offend can be rehabilitated, but if I'm willing to try and rehab a dog I feel I should give a human the chance as well.

One of the hardest things for me to do when working as the Canine Rehabilitation Supervisor at the SPCA was to hold my tongue with the people who were bringing their animals in to give them up, or when giving animals back to people who I thought did not deserve them. Lord knows it would have been easier on me to let go and tell them what I thought. LOL

With a first offense, teaching what is proper is possible, and they may learn as an adult what they might not have as a child. To control extreme emotions or anger and not give in to their impulses.

But if they do not learn, and offend again....string em up. I'll even get the rope:p
