View Full Version : Site Downtime...

I've moved the site back to the old server for the time being so that the new server can be fixed and properly setup before moving the site back over to it. I'm hoping I will be able to upgrade the software the site uses on the new server before I change it back over. If I'm able to do that, it will mean I will have to pay for both servers during that time and the site's account barely has enough to pay for the old server (that it is running on again) after updating licenses to be able to update the software on the site. I bought the server with my own money, but that was all the money I had to invest in it, the rest, for now anyway, will have to rely on the users.

It will probably be at least a few days, to a week (or more) before the site is moved back over, depending on numerous things. I'm going to try to ensure that the downtime next time will be as minimal as possible.

Man oh man, I tried to visit yesterday and saw FORBIDDEN, thought I'd done something wrong and had been banned LOL.

You guys are doing a great job trying to keep the down time to as little as possible. It's a bad time of year here for Carpentry work, but as soon as things pick up I will have to step up to the plate and become a full member.

Keep up the good work my friends, it definately is much appreciated. I was Jones'ing yesterday and it made me realize how much I love coming here.

Yes I think that we could all make a donation just to help keep the place going. Even if some of us are premium members. I know I will. I enjoy it and it is a very worthy cause in my book. I think if quite a few of us put our heads together and donated a little something, we could rest a little easier knowing we helped!

I would like to not to all members. If a handicapped retired soldier can pay double premium a year every one else should be able to pay at least one. Or even donate 5-10. I would hate for the site to go down. I champained the premium membership a few months ago and several signed up. In the big picture it was an overall low percentage of total memberships. But to those that have thanks. I am just a member of this site just like most of us. I have a farm and kennel to operate. Been offsite more than on lately because I need to focus more on my operations here for now while the weather is good. If you like the site then support it is the bottom line.

I'm interested in the pedigree section...will the new server accomidate?

I'm interested in the pedigree section...will the new server accomidate?Yeah, once I find somebody that can actually do what I want to do with it AND actually be able to afford it. I might shell out $920 for a server, but I'm not paying twice that (or more) for a piece of software. I don't see any pedigree center coming any time soon, we barely scrape by on $59.95 per month to pay to run the site, and it's not unusual for me to have to put in some on it, and now I'll be paying nearly $100 more per month... so it is highly unlikely, although theoretically possible.

I am game with that (Donating money)..

We can also get creative and maybe plan fun days in each region. Premium members would be responsible for it. That way we wont have to worry about the site going down. And we can uplift the breed at the same time. It would also give us a chance to meet each other. It is getting warm this is the best time to do it....

I think every member should have to pay atleast 10 bucks every 3 years just to be a member give them like a year trial and make them pay some because Without dues this site cant be ran. Or something fare like that you know.

If you need help with ideas to make site revenue, I could be of assistance. I have a little experience in that field.

I agree this site desserves help to keep it running. After all, I have gained more knowledge about APBT's here than anywhere, which has helped me raise a wonderful dog. Thank you to Shon, Marty, and everyone else that puts in work here.
