What about old members that have been on here for a long time and STILL DON"T GET IT? It is obvious there are a few people on here that say they are learning, but keep doing the same old dumb things. Seriously.

I think that if you are on here giving advice to people and yet you are selling CKC Bluffs you really haven't learned anything from this website. Sad to say there are a few people just like that, one actually PM'd me, but you can tell that this person will still go on doing what they are doing.

when someone comes on and has made a mistake or a new member comes to the site asking for recommendation on how to handle and whatnot this breed they get critized to the brink without knowing they're sitution, we who have had these dogs for years have got to understand that there are ppl out that are just getting into this breed and want to learn and not get their head beat in for asking a question,,, those who have made mistakes learn from them just as i did years ago,,, and don't look to have it happen again,,,
We are here to educate and to try and better the breed not nit pick ppl to death,,
although there are those who have to learn the hard way we can at least advise them the best plan of action whether they listen its up to them,,,

Bashing, flaming, same thing.
On the Internet, flaming is giving someone a verbal lashing in public. Unless in response to some rather obvious flamebait, flaming is in poor taste.
:D But it's what I do best:D
we dirty south folk only know the taste in our mouths:p

So telling someone what they did was wrong and to reconsider isn't bashing or flaming?
This is the internet and people will misinterpret how someone is stating something. If you get your feelings hurt easily then maybe you're in the wrong breed.

So technically it's not anyones fault here that someone just rushed into the breed. They rushed into it and then come here and ask all the questions. Bass Ackwards! Once again, nobodys fault but their own. I understand just down right dogging someone if they're hard headed, stubborn and so on especially if they are saying something like "oh I get a pup in a few day can someone tell me about the breed real quick". Give me a break.
As for the board having so many women, you'd figure they'd be tough owning this breed, but then again many men aren't as tough as the women.

like i said i feel what ur saying but u also have to put that shoe on the other footI'd have to agree that we should offer help from thus point on although I think if they acknowledge the mistake they made then that's when we know they are willing to come here, stay here and learn. Some of these people come here on a high horse expecting red carpet treatment.
remember:
...it's not what you say, ...
but, how you say it. ;)

When members offer criticism, BEFORE they even lift a pinkie to help, when members judge BEFORE they even know the whole story, it's flaming, it's bashing. How can we build a forum or community when there are a few self appointed experts out here swooping in and chasing our new members out?<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
I agree. I haven't been on this forum long, but I have been on many others for years and this topic always comes up. I feel many pit bull owners have personalities as strong as their dogs. :D
I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't like the feeling of having to wear kid gloves around ANY members. New or old. I don't like having to worry about stepping on toes because I give an honest opinion. That doesn't mean I have the right to be rude to members, though, I understand that. I am not perfect...I can and have over stepped my boundaries on a few occasions. I hope everyone understands where I'm coming from with this. Walking on eggshells is not comfortable for me. :o

I guess I just have a vendetta for people who just jump into the breed without knowing what they're doing. It's not newbies in general, it's the new people who say I'm getting a pup tommorrow can you tell me about the breed or bloodline. That's what makes my blood boil. It just erks me that the breed is in such a negative image to a majority of society and people jumping into the breed are more vulnerable to making mistakes especially when they don't think they've made a mistake or know what they've gotten into.
Sorry for all this venting.

So, when you got into the breed, you knew everything?Never said I did or you had to know everything, but how dumb does it sound for someone to say "hey I'm getting this new dog please tell me all you can about it real quick". That itself sounds ignorant.
BTW: I did my research thoroughly before I got my first dog. I found a mentor.;)

OK first of all, you do not know my story, I have a am bull to which i reserached thorughly and she is just fine, had you took a min to ask questions and get to know me rather than jumping in and bashing me, you may have learned something, on top of that i work for rescue, i take in what i can when i have space available to save a life, i know all about bsl and how i'm responsible for showing how great the breed is, but had you asked me anything rather than jumping right in and critisize you may have knew that, frankly you came in wanting to bash, you didn't ask me ANYTHING but assumed EVERYTHING. With that said i will back off this thread.

I'm gonna ASSume you are talking to me because I was suggesting you reconsider getting the pup. However you want to look at I was being truthful about you should've did your research first. That's not bashing. Bashing would be name calling, and etc. I was merely telling you not to jump in head first. Especially as a "rescue", you really need to know what you're getting into being that each animal has it's own behavior and needs met. So if you really are a rescue that's something I would think you'd know, but that's not bashing. That's honesty!;)
