I tried searching and couldn't find anything, but I'm just looking for advice on flea prevention. What's the best way to keep them off? I am so frustrated right now because I can't find the midway of bathing my dogs too much which dries about their skin and the point to where they get fleas. I had frontline at first, but each treatment didn't last long, so I just ordered K9 Advantix since it's supposed to be better. But are there any other ways? Or methods to keep them clean with out going through a full bath that won't dry their skin and dull their hair. Ideally, something cheaper than Advantix that's good for mutiple dog households.

dogs in the house? If not, you can use lime pellets (treat their area and surrounding, rock salt is also good (used the same way) frontline spray may be an option for you! I don't know what to tell ya if they are in the house though......Frontline works great for us......

Advantix is crap, definitley get frontline plus for fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. We have sold both where i work and now we just sell the frontline due to customer feed-back and everyone at work uses it.It in the same price as advantix. Some times it may seem not to last long but with a few consecutive teartments you should have better luck. Also some stuff you can get o.t.c called Adams ,the spray works really well we even use it at work sometimes its at petsmart amd wal-mart it is a little exspensive compared to other flea products but it really does work.Oh and make sure with frontline that the vet is giving you thr right dose because if it is to small a dose or if you split a larger tube between several dogs it may not work as well or long.

and to keep them maintained, I'd go with a monthly preventative, as well, and have ALWAYS had luck with the Frontline. too bad, you didn't...
no doubt, it's great to treat the adults, but yah gutta find the source and treat that as well, to prevent reinfestation.

thanks for all the responses. they are inside dogs, but we spend a lot of time in the yard. Maybe I didn't stay on frontline for long enough, so I might change back after I give this advantix a shot.
Off topic, but is there a search function on this forum? I couldn't find it...

And don't forget to treat year round. Ppl think that fleas only happen in the summer.
