Hey Guys Just wanted to let you know whats going on. I woked 2nd shift for about 5 years at a Toolbox factory for about 5 years now. Well I have been off and on several different teams throughout the year. Last week I got a letter from The factory CFM and corperate headquarters Well They asked me to be on a design team for a new craftsman toolbox. So all this week I have been working real hard on this design team on days. Today We designed an aluminum toolbox that we got to present to the Management and Corperate. This could be really good for me. I have my presentation at 10am this morning We will see how they like the new box. I will Keep you informed.

relax, brother. I garuntee, when you go in front of the board, you know more about your product and service you provide than any office boy or deck jockey. If they didn't want you to explain your thought process, they wouoldn't have put you on the design team or asked you to give a presentation.

This alone measn your peers have confidence in your ability. It speaks volumes of you.

I'd say burn one to calm down, but then you might smell funky when you go strollin' into the office with rosey glasses on. ;)

Being nervous is a waste of energy and brain power. Be confident in your design and treat them like they NEED YOU. Im not saying be an ass, just have confidence in your design if u know its good. All they can say is yes or no.

Anxiety can really mess u up. Take a lot of deep breaths and stay CALM... nothing to be nervous about, they are PEOPLE like u and I. If its good they will want it.

GOOD LUCK

Well it sounds like you have the experience to handle it just fine, they wouldn't have chosen you if they were not confident in your abilities. Be confident in that...presentation is everything!

Also, if you can't imopress them with intelligence, baffle them with bullshit! (Just Kidding:D )

Obviously THEY are confident in YOU, so all you have to do is prove them right. I'm sure you will do just fine.

I recently finished my speech course, and the best thing I found was to go over the speech again and again, and again in front of a mirror. You still won't rememeber every single thing when you get up, but it makes a huge difference.

Oh I got it memorized I know these boxes better than I know my dogs. I ran production when I first started here, then I upgraded to automatic press went from there to cell leader or superviser Went down from superviser because I just like the work and not stand around to Setup man to machinist and setupman/ forklift driver. I probally have craftsman stamped in my brains because I just cant leave this factory LOL.

Ok just now finished the meetings up. Here is an overview of what happened.

First one was of the design of the box. The CFM and Corperate loved it. They changed the dwr pulls from honeycome to black and changed it again to crome.
Perfect That is what I was wanting in the first place, but the whole thing is a team decision. And Told us we are going to recieve a prototype of the box for our hard work. Sears appreciates everything that we did.

The second meeting with with plant management only. They congratulated us on the design and went over the other part of our objectives which was to make and adjust a line to run the box. I had an ideal that impressed the plant mannager. My ideal was simple but cost affecent. It saved the company $83,000 a year just by a simple way of sorting paperwork using a collator.

The third meeting was over our 30 day list of things to do outside of the team. Was good I got a few extra things I got to do but Not bad. This has been a great week for me I loved it. On another note. The plant mannager pulled me aside and asked me if I would like to join another team at the begining of next month. I excitely accepted.

I enjoy these teams because you get to come up with your own ideals, and get to work at your own pace.

Oh by the whey thaks for letting me post this even though it is off tipic I just had to share.

Ok also For you guys to watch for. At the beginning of next year or at end of this year they will release this box. It is an aluminum Red or blue box it will be craftsman or cobalt.

I cannot post pictures of give information of the box other than that because of the chinease threat. They copy our boxes all the whey down to the flause. One time we made a box with a die marke mistake on it 4000 units. It wasn,t a month later they had that same box made and selling it at wallmart and their box had that same mistake on it.
