I was wondering how Gr.Ch. Machobuck does in the showring? I believe my pup favors him and they have the same blood. Her ears look like his and I'm not sure they fit the standard. Does or would he do well at conformation shows?

Can you posts front and side stacked shots of your puppy??? Having the same bloodline and ears doesn't make them the same dog... It's better to eval the individual dog IMO and not compare him to another

What is her attitude like???

It is about structure first off but also the attitude in the ring

I was not trying to say I have the next Macho, I was merly saying who she favored. Thats who I thought of when I saw her.

Her looks are changing a little now as well as her ears. I have put a few more pics in the gallery. I'm waiting for approval.

Can you look at the pics for me and tell me if you thinks she may do well in the conformation ring? What are her faults? What should I work on besides her stack?

What do you think Patch?

We still need to work on a stack.

Here are a couple of side shots:

First off, your pup is a cute little bugger.

But IMO, he looks to be down in the pasterns & hocks from many pictures I've seen plus he looks pretty straight in the stifles.

But, I'm not a judge. ;)

Awe I just want to hug the little cutie pie

He looks to be straight in the stfle as already mentioned and also lacking in rear angulation

Is he loose in the elbows when he gaits

Looks like he stands very proudly which is a big plus in the show ring. Attitude does make a difference IMO

I think you should tape or glue his ears, it would clean up his head if they sat a little better

It will be fun watching him grow and mature :)

Thanks for all the honest comments. Oh btw she is a female. I know she looks like a male. I was thinking she looks kinda down in the pasterns sometimes too. Other times she does not. Its not very severe. Do you think it will stay that way? It seems like her bones are blocky there. They bend correctly though.

Her stifle looks better when she is in stack position. I have not had a APBT yet that has the 45 degree angle stifle. I looked at the conformation site, but can some one post a pic of their dog here to show me what it should look like?

I have never seen someone tape or glue a dogs ears if they were not cut. Can you please explain how and what it will accomplish? (Pics please!) She is holding her right ear a little more open and farther out than the other now. (more rose prick, but not quite) Do you think the way she holds them will change naturally?

I will have to pay more attention to her elbows when she gaits. Are they supposed to stay strait or bend? Please explain what I'm looking for. I have never had a conformation bred dog, but I am very interested in this for some reason. Thanks for everyones kind and honest replies.

Does she look down in her pasterns here? Does the stifle look any better here?

The legs in the last pict aren't extended where they should be which probably makes the stiffle appear to have better turn in that last pict because in all the other picts it looks pretty straight.

The ears are so cute. Ears change with growth spurts so you'll have to wait and see.

LOL I knew she was a she and type he any how LOL. I hate typing sorry

If you get a chance look at Patcheeno's page at his stifle and rear angulation. They are some of his strong points IMO and will give you a good idea. Pretty much however he stands he still has the turn in them

if a dog's elbows are loose they move really sloopy and kind of choppy looking instead of smoothly in the front . I can't tell how hers are in the picts.
With some things you really have to see the dog and how they move

The lack of rear angulation gives them less reach and drive in the rear

There is no reason I see that you can't try and show her

totally offtopic: great to see my best friends website on this board :D (the ground zero one).

ontopic: she will grow into her ears a lot more, the more I see the natural look, the more I tend to prefer it.
