Best of Luck Jack.............BLADE RIP!Best of luck with your show Joel. Wish I could make it but that’s the same weekend as the PalmettoState APBT Club's ADBA sanctioned show at the Hickory American Legion Fairgrounds in Hickory, North Carolina. Blade's daughter Lizzy is going make her debut at the exact same show and in the exact same class that her daddy did. I've got a few other surprises too!

Jack...thanks for asking. I know you know my feelings but at least everyone else will also. A conformation show is just that....conformation. Any dog may enter any class they choose, reguardless of the color of the dog. There are standards to be followed. Pretty simple. As we have discussed before, no exceptions. The term "bully" is used in the context of bulldogs. It is not used to express a certain type of dog. Your dog BLADE, although blue in color, was a conformationally correct dog in every aspect and there are many more like him out there.
Just because I raise mostly blues now does not make it a BLUE BBQ. If that had been the intention it would have stated that on the flyer. The show we held last October was open to all bloodlines as well and they were well represented. Mostly gamebred dogs walked away with trophies. Gamebred dogs won the treadmill & hangtime. One guy who showed up with a RE dog was all pissed off because he didn't "place" with his dog and he had won at other bully(blue) events. Hate it for him (not really).
As far as judging at the events we host, we do things slightly different in that we have THREE judges for every event. It is not just the eyes and preferences of one man/woman but the compilation of scoring between three. In my opinion, it is the only fair way to judge a show. If one of the judges has dogs in the show, they bow out for that particular class and the decision is based on the compilation of scoring between two judges.
Our main goal through all of this is to bring ALL bulldoggers together for a great time and good representation of the breed. Anytime you put out a positive image of the pitbull and it's owners, you've done a good thing. These dogs have been my passion for twenty five years now. WE have to be proactive in stopping BSL and one of the best ways to is to get together as a whole without incident and all have a great time. Even with the sponsorship on this show it is costing me a piss load of money to put on - facility rental, event insurance, program cost, security, etc. and all I am asking for in return is canned food item for the local Help Center so they can also know our hearts are as big as our dogs.
I have even got the local Humane Society backing us on this one. How positive is that! Most of you who like to make fun of these shows don't have a clue what it takes to put one on. Become active in your local bulldogger association and find out. Alot talk smack and then sit at home and do NOTHING for the breed. Isn't it easier to see the glass half full instead of half empty?
Enough ranting......come enjoy the show.....you will be glad you did. Nothing better than being around those who inside are just like you! Thanks again Jack.
Hey Joel, I was wondering... how do you guys judge the classes? Game dogs & bullies together or seperate?

ADBA Judge Leanne Freeman has been gracious enough to judge the show for us. Many of you in Tennessee already know her. She is a great judge and a great person.
Hope to see y'all there!
