I am getting ready to register our new pup with the adba ! I am unsure where this registration stands as far as breeding purposes and how it compares to the akc and ukc standards ! I would appreciate any info that anyone has to give me a better idea! Thanks ! ! !

A registration certificate doesn't mean a hill of beans when it comes to 'proving' a dog is breed worthy or not. Of course the pedigree is a nice thing to have to know the history on a dog, but it takes much much more to determine if a dog is meets the high breed standards to determine if it's a prospect for breeding.

And since the AKC doesn't register APBTs, you're left with the ADBA & UKC (of course there is the AADR, BFKC, SDR). Out of the two, the ADBA has stuck with the original breed standard. They UKC has changed their breed standard (in terms of physical looks) in order to meet the whims of every Joe Blow out there.

Thank you for the info. We have known AKC and UKC as registrars, but not heard of the ADBA until we got Layla. Her papers were ADBA & we weren't sure if it was a reputable registrar.
