Thnx allot! I hate to say it, but the runt passed this morning! Was alive when I woke, to a shower, and he was dead. I was gona go and get a feeding tube today for him!! Just too late. Lets me know that I needed to be prepaired for any and every thing that could go wrong!! We'd hold him to the nipple and hold his mouth ther and squeeze some milk out and he'd take a very little before passing out. Wouldnt ever latch on. I believe had I had a feeding tube, and got the nourishment into his belly, he'd have pulled through. He was half the size of the rest when born. I hated he died, might have been one of them special ones. I most always have a place for the runts!! I beat myself for not having the tube. I wont get caught on that one again!!

Yea, I had a couple pass that way. I learned the hard way to always have a feeding tube & milk on hand before the litter even drops.

Good luck w/ the rest of the litter! :)

I am so very sorry about the little one. Nature has a way of sorting out the weak. Did the pup have a cleft pallate by chance. I know that is just one possible reason they don't latch on.

I know that is just one possible reason they don't latch on.Boy, that is a worry we have (cleft palate). My husband has a son who was born w/ a cleft palate & he is real hinky about the subject. I dread the day should we ever have a pup born with it. He would totally freak out & I don't mean freak out in a good way. I have checked every pup born & thus far it hasn't occured yet, but there is never anything saying it can't.
