Best time of year for a new Dog

I was wondering when people thought the best time of year to get a dog is? I live in Minnesota and yesterday morning it was -1F when I got out of bed. Do you think it would be best to wait until the spring or does it not really matter? My concern is that I won't be able to exercise the dog when it's so cold and that it will be difficult to potty train. All answers are welcome.

In your case I would indeed wait till the Tulips blossum.

I would suggest waiting until spring to get a dog.

Housebreaking is much easier when the dog is willing to go outside and you can excercize the dog.
