I was wondering, do any of you guys/gals have a problem with your pit wanting to drag you when you walk it? I take mine out and all he wants to do is pull and pull, i use a regular collar and he practicley wants to choke himself out when walking him? Any tips on how I can stop him from doing that? I like to walk him alot, but at times it can get frustrating.

Use a Choke chain when you are walking your dog. There's also a "Gaff" chain made for walking works something klike a choke chain. It's not really necessary to teach your dog to "heel" but teach the dog that when it feels the slightest tug at its collar then it's time to slow down. You can to this by letting the Choke chain do it's job or when your dog comes to the end of the leash give a quick, sharp tug on the choke chain. Repetion is the key to this. Soon as your dog learns this you will be able to walk it with ease on a regular collar. Hope this helps

Every one I've got does it....and I too let em, it does work them well. My house dog added a nice layer of muscle in about a mo. doing this. Unfortunately she is now that much stronger, and pulls that much harder....lolI let mine pull... it works them better....

Well, When I do take them into someplace public, I keep them on a
1 1/2 ft. leash, or a 2 ft. leash... more control.... so I can force them to stay at my side... then they will eventually figure it out, and chill out...

I let all mine pull, in fact I encourage it. I usually walk with a 2 inch collar or harness. It works the dogs better and it also gives me a hell of a workout. I only have one dog I feel comfortable in public and he pulls and heels on command. As far as working dogs, I would just let them pull...
My dog does the same thing...But ive noticed that when I walk her on a choke chain she is alot easier to control...i do let her pull when i leave her regular collar on but i also walk with my 3 yr old step daughter so the choke chain comes in handy.

Pinch collars are great. I put that on Oakley and she is just fine. Works good, I think better than the choke chain only because it does not hurt the dog, but rather pinches them to behave.

Im personally not a fan of choke or pinch collars... Mine are on their leather collars when they are walked aorund alot of peaple... otherwise, when I am working them, they are on a 20 ft. rope witht heir 2 in. wide nylon tie out collars....
