hey whats good everybody, just wanted to introduce myself my names EL for short in longisland ny 28yo, former pit bull owner RIP KOKO , plan on getting another in about a year or less. im familiar with the breed but have loads of questions picking my next pit, when i first picked my former pit i did no research and even though she was a great dog i was very unsure if she was 100% due to slightly longer hair then normal and was a taller looking pit not stocky at all but none the less she was great had no complaints. when i purchosed her the parents were on premise and looked beautiful and she had papers (lil suspect considering they had a different address and the color realy didnt match what was on the papers) but thats in the past so i dont care and well i lost the papers like an ass a week later after purchase (young and dum) so thats the history of her as for me i always grew up with dogs since day 1, black lab cocker spanial rotti and my pit. i plan on getting a house soon with my soon to be wife so thats when we will be getting our dogs, she will be getting a basset hound, hope to get them at the same time if not the basset hound first then pit

Best of luck, I've glanced over your other post and it seems others are hitting on the subject already, but I must say it again, so you know how important it is. APBT's are NOT pack animals, they have been bred for human compassion, and combat with anything on 4 legs. With some of the dogs your thinking about going with, truth be told, they are more English Bulldog/Dogue De Boudreaux and American Bulldog then APBT. Many of these mutts play fine with other dogs, but the potential for dog-aggression is always there, so be aware. I have a bulldog living with my Mastiff in my house. As pups, they adored eachothers attention, and what not, but as they get older....you find more and more they just ignore eachother, and seek human compassion. Everytime I leave, they are locked in kennels, in seperate rooms with the doors closed. Never risk it.
