I Was Told When Pups Are 4 Weeks Old They Need There First Shot Not 6 Weeks Is That True. Absolutely not. Actually 6-8 weeks is a better time IMO

I have heard of breeders giving a parvo shot at 5 weeks. But 4 weeks seems a tad young.

Once parvo is in your yard and house it is hard to get rid of...

Be careful who you let come over and who is around the pups. Also if the puppies are nursing they should be getting the antibodies from the dam. They should not be totally weaned at 4 weeks of age IMO

The only time I've heard of shots being done that early is in rescue situations

You may want to discuss your concerns with a vet especially if you think your pups are at greater risk

I asked the vet because I had heard the same thing about giving them shots at 4 weeks old and he said absolutely not. He said that the puppies are not old enough and their immune systems cannot handle the shot, It basically is a waste of time and money. He suggests like most to give the first set at 6 weeks old.
