The Denver legislation brings me to a point. Most of the problems that people encounter with pitbulls are because the owner has no business owning them.
YUPPIES - Has a Pitbull because "it's the cool thing to do". To begin with, they don't understand gameness. If these people read the Definition of Gameness, it would scare the hell out of them. Soon discard their dogs by dumping or death.
DRUG DEALERS - Uses the dog for his advantage and to guard his stash. Trys to make their dogs man-haters. This is the only time I condone putting a gamedog down is when it is a man-hater.
There are few of us out there who truly love the breed and strive to improve it in our own ways. Love our dogs for who they are, their heritage, and their abilities.
Anyone else agree?
Yes Sir 100%
But don't forget the young stupid kid that wants to walk around and feel all big and bad with his "PETBULL" as they like to call them..But have no idea what they have walking at the end of there leash....Just last weekend we went to a park and these's kids
(14 15 yr's old) were facing there dogs off...There dogs are going crazy!!!!! Then 1 of the dogs grabs the other by the stifle and all the other kids that are standing around watching and laughing get scared and run away..Before I can get over there to help, this older man gets there and says just pull them apart!!!! So he takes ahold of the one dog inhold an yanks as hard as he can and it skin's the other dogs back leg!!!!! Never in my life have I seen something that nasty!!!

Wrong owner /wrong breed is probably the number one / two problem for most every breed out there!! (behind bad breeders!!)
most people see a dog on TV (like for instance the JRT on Fraiser) and see how well behaved , cute etc it is and want one..without thinking or researching the breed. Then you get breeders who don't care and sell them a dog..hence, the new owners wind up with a not so well behaved little bundle of destruction!!
Maybe they should start putting warning labels on dogs lol .."warning if you're geting this dog because you saw it on TV, just rip up your couch right now and save the money you'd spend on buying the dog to get a new couch"

That is why if I do sell a dog or pup; I don't sell to just anyone. When I do sell 1 and someone comes by, I talk to them to get a feel about them. If sense something wrong or they say something I don't like, NO SALE!

they're the people who give our breed a very bad reputation. heck, aside from the animal right activists they're are the next big thing.lol
the best thing in my mind is just keep the dogs out of public eye as best as possible and then get a bunch of canary island dogs breed the hell out of them and start selling them to people and when 300 kids that year get killed the heat will be on another breed. (i ment this as an exxageration) the lady i remeber making headlines a few years ago from being killed in her apt hallway was killed by one of these and they say it is the only true man stopping dog, the only bad thing about it would be they look like 160lb pits.
the aspca from my understanding thinks more of these dogs as vicious cause there aggression towards other dogs and dope dealers fuckin with them till they hate everyone. and when these dogs get loose and kill someones pets it makes headlines. but if we keep them on strong sturdy chains so they cant get loose we are cruel. does it make sense to anyone else.

My cousin is out in washington and there it is illgal to have your dogs chained up if you own more then 3 dog's, if you own more then 3 dog's you have to have a kennel license and all your dogs have to be kept in a kennel or running lose, but your dogs can not for any reason charge your fence if there lose or you will be fined $50 dollars for each time you get reported? Can you believe that! he told me that he just saw on the news that there trying to pass a new law out there that says any dog over 30lbs will be considered dangerous, no matter what the breed and if passed the dogs will have to be kept on chains, leash's in cages, pen's, kennels and what ever else they can think of to put them in..The owner's of these so called dangerous dogs will also have to carry insurance on there dog or dogs in case they kill someone..

Now THOSE are some ridiculous laws. Don't these idiots understand we chain our dogs to secure them from running loose and hurting each other and other peoples animals??? Slowly but surely, our rights as American citizens are getting stripped away....

Maan that's gay. I certainly hope Tallahassee doesn't get any of these ideas.
MMK's post reminded me of my buddy. Buddy has a 3-4mth old bitch and keeps her in a closet (in an apartment). Now, i'm 19, and also an African-American...so, yaknow, i'm not afraid to say some of my associates are in fact doing some illegal activities (:( Shame), and i see quite a few APBT's done wrong. I know that dog is in the wrong hands especially when he was speaking of breeding her as soon as she's big enough. That kinda pissed me off because i know if he breeds her, even if he does properly, he's not gonna be able to handle that, not to mention i aint heard shit about any papers. Heh, think i should steal her and give her a better home???

And it sounds like he is breeding for the wrong reasons, and you should attempt to advice against it. Now are far as not hearing shit about any papers...papers DO NOT make the dog. Hell I haven't registered any of our dogs in awhile now, and don't really have much plan on doing so as I know how they are bred and I don't need a registry to tell me that or give me a pretty ownership certificate to let me know I own them lol...some of the best dogs weren't registered, GR CH 35...
