Here is one for you all! Had a fellow dogger tell me that one of the guys he is dealing with picked up one of his pups by the ear and carried it around the yard to prove it's pain tolerance. Heresay, and I "Quote" them saying (Fat Bill) used to do this to check if the pup was going to be worth anything!!! Some people are just plan stupid folks and this does not tell you anything about a pup. All this does is make the pup not want to be around you after you do this kind of stupid shit! If this is the kind of mentoring we have today then your better off teaching yourself about the dogs. I was mislead at the start of my novice carrier but have earned a right to own this dog by earning my swag!

For you young owners please don't get caught up with a looser so-called dogman to learn bad habits. Taking care of your dogs is very important but never the less people are more important than these dogs ever will be but do your part to be a kind but firm dogger and allow no cur to grace your yard.

It's your duty to raise your dogs and pups in a manner fitting of a true dogman or doglady. Lazy people need not apply because I've seen the dogs dead on their chains and dog houses to prove that not everyone is a good representive of our APBT or any other dog for that matter.

I agree with Attila, however, I think you should hang a cinder-block from his wedding tackle and make him walk 25 yards to prove his merit. (the motive behind this is that maybe he won't produce any offspring )

oh i have seen that and my reply to that was what the hell are you doing,the person that was doing it said seeing how tough the dog is,my reply i grabbed him by the hair of the head and drug him around the yard,he was screaming like a little girl,so i said guess you aint that tough either.seen a man shake his pups real hard and throw em down on the ground,again my reply was what the hell are you doing,again same anwser,so my reply was i grabbed him by the neck shook him and threw him down on the ground,the man was stunned i did this,i said to him you dont look like a keeper to me.seen a man grab a pup by the scruff of the neck and shake it and swing it,so this time i didnt bother to ask why i just grabbed him by the hair and his britches and did the same,cept i flung him into the wall outside he actually cried a little,so i said damn your a cur aint ya.seen a man swing a pup by the tail to see it's worth,so i pushed him down and just kept kicking him in the ass again he screamed,so i said well guess you aint worth a shit.and the list goes on and on,the whole problem is like slick said they are getting steered in the wrong direction,and thats no good.they aint ever gonna learn nothing,unless we try our damndest and teach it to them.i have taught a good few folks over the years and i hope each and every one of you do the same.

Well, let me expound a little more detail about this person. During his testing phase of an older dog, being the idiot he is would roll the dog 3 or 4 times a week and let him lay around till he was better and do it again if the dog lived. This is the kind of dumbasses I was exposed to starting out in this game but grew smart very quick and got out while I could. I even went as far as giving him some pups off my litters because he had me hoodwinked at the start of the short lived mentoring phase. I want to Quote my former SgtMaj in saying, Be and mentor not a tormentor folks.

good post y'all. i totally agree with you guys about how unlogical those ideas are but honestly, you guys might have saved a couple of mentally challenged doggers some good dogs by just saying it was stupid. i'm pretty sure if a mentor acted all miyagisan-style and said "do. don't ask why." many students would have just ruined a litter bc of that. thanks much.
