I was on the ABKC site, just flipping through, seeing what they were saying about their big dog breed when I went to the frequently asked question page. I was shocked to find this.

"What are the American Bandogs?
All non-purebreds, such as a Bulldog-Pit mix for example, will be registered as an American Bandog. This is for breeders who want to create there own dog.

What other dogs can be registered with The ABKC?
We currently accept the following breeds:
Olde Bulldogs
English Bulldogs
Alapaha Bulldogs
American Bulldogs
Hermes Bulldogs
American Bandogs
American Bully"

Wow...is all I have to say.

So then, about 99% of their registry will be bandogs???

LOL. Funny. Since they know so much, they should know that "Hermes" is a line of Olde English Bulldogs....not a breed in itself.

Alittle know fact is that the bandog as some of us know it[game bred apbt/mastiff cross]was a product of some game dog men of the time, most notably Jack kelly who provided stud service to the swinford bandogs creator.

The most famous of bandogs was bantu and he was out of kelly "bobtail buddy"
or "bobtail jack"1xw to swinfords mastiff bitch octavia.
