Was just watching the TV Guide channel and they were doing this short little thing about Steve, well they interviewed a PETA person, not sure who she was, she says she believes that his "exzuberance(sp?) overshadowed the stress he put on the animals by forcing them to interact with him." She also feels that if he was a true conservationist he would have left all the animals alone, that to protect and conserve animals they should be left alone. I feel that's a load of crap, yes humans do cause many problems for animals, but we also help them in many ways. It just made me mad that she had nothing good to say about him. And everyone keeps going back to the time he held his baby while feeding a croc. Yes it was nuts but, in his mind he was doing a good thing. I dont know it just makes me mad that PETA is saying this crap about him. He was a great man, doing great things for animals by educating the public. Oh, and they named some kind of turtle after him, The Irwin Eye Turtle, I believe was the name.

I hate to see people listen to those PETA terrorists, but people do. Steve was a little out there, I never met him personally, dealt with people that knew him,,some said he was alright and some just said he was wacked,,he shouldn't be bashed now that he isn't here to defend himself,,now it only hurts his family

Some animal lovers aren’t shedding any crocodile tears for Steve Irwin.
The Aussie naturalist, known as the Crocodile Hunter, was killed last week by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. But the folks at PETA are neither surprised nor upset by his passing.
“It comes as no shock at all that Steve Irwin should die provoking a dangerous animal,” PETA’s Dan Mathews tells The Scoop. “He made a career out of antagonizing frightened wild animals, which is a very dangerous message to send to kids.”
Does Irwin’s career as a naturalist impress the animal-rights group? Says Mathews: “If you compare him with a responsible conservationist like Jacques Cousteau, he looks like a cheap reality TV star.”
Idiots!

Shameless PETA arse-holes. I just watched a very enjoyable episode on "Pen & Teller's Bull Shit" where they got stuck into PETA and gave them some well due public exposure for the hypocritical sham organization it is. This interview highlights what kind of people they are, that they'll use a man's death to further promote their own twisted ideas on animal welfare. What would some dick from PETA know about what's good and proper treatment for the kinds of animals that Steve had been working with his whole life anyhow?
No offense to Jacques but he has been dead for ten years and he was a really old man when he died. Steve Irwin turned a new generation onto animal conservation and he brought it into our homes in a way that others like Jacque couldn't. His enthusiasm was huge and contagious and his death is a major loss for wild life.
R.i.p Steve, I know I'm gonna miss your spirit and attitude even if PETA won't!

Yeah Steve was definetly one of a kind, but to say he's not a conservastionist. LMAO There's always gonna be somebody hatin. I mean not that we have to defend him, but I remember watching the memorial service and there was this spread of like 20 acres of land that they bought in 1994 that was like badlands or useless or whatever, And they ended up planteing a bucnh of trees all over it and the Koala population blew up and thrived there. I guess that's not conservation.

So what else is new? These extremists (PETA) main goal is to free all animals everywhere. Yes, that includes your pets from their homes, cattle from farms, etc, etc. This organization does not want animals used for anything meaningful. According to them, we should serve animals not the other way around (well, they do not say that straight up but that is what I gather about them).
Obviously, Peta has a problem with people educating the masses about wild life. "Leave them alone!" they shout.
In regards to Steve and his baby incident, well, Steve is a professional who has been around crocs most of his life. I am sure Steve would have thrown his body in the croc's mouth before letting it get near his baby son. Again, this is showing how misinformed these PETA people really are regarding animals. They have no clue but they just want them "free".
This is one of those times when "pissing on PETA" banners would come handy. Let us all join together to send them a great golden shower.....

I would like to send them a shower that is for sure but I would like to use a maluable metal that is shinny when liquid but grey when solid and you can write with it. lol
I am scared of that dog in the photo Blaizen that is very scary I would run from that little thing. lol smiling little thing probably would shred me to death in a heart beat. lol for such cute little buggers I have learned to use caution when approaching one to pet it. they can bite faster than a humming bird can flap its wings.

oh yah they are quick to talk crap on him when he is dead, but did you hear a word coming out of their mouthes when he was alive. No never once. They are a bunch of jack asses and need to shut the ???? Up. Steve Irwin did alot in terms of helping the environment and animals. He rescued gators from rural areas. and numerious other kind of stuff like that. Anyone that watched his shows knows all about him. If this is what they think about him maby they need to do a little research and watch his video's.

Anyone who simpathizes with peta needs only to watch the pen & teller episode about them peta terrorst That episode show's there true agenda. It pisses me off evry time I see one of them Peta suporting famious Idiots with there PET dog or cat on there lap, doing a comersial for that group of killers. It is painfully obvious that thay have no idea what peta truely belives in. TOTAL ANAMALE LIBBERATION!!!! Ya thats right to even own a pet or to even pet a wild dog would be interfering with nature, tharefore in there eyes would be animal cruilty. Before some famos iddiot does there comunity service or trys to boost there immage by being assosiated with a nice positive groop like peta (puking all over my keyboard) thay need to do there homework and find out what it is that thay are supporting

My hubby works with a PETA supporter. I told him to watch out and stay away. He said she's nuts and she's rude. She supports PETA but had on a shirt the other day that had PETA across the front and on the bottom said People Eating Tasty Animals?! Go figure on that cause when asked, she says no I dont eat helpless animals. The first day he worked with her, he came home and said I think this new girl is one of them crazy PETA people. Boy he was right. I told him if she keeps pissing him off to wear a fur coat to work and bring a big ol' juicy steak and a whole chicken for lunch..lol!

LOL, guess you were as perplexed as I when news of Steve's "audacious" action surfaced on international networks. Luckily YOU were not televised. I could have heard the media feeding on this with headlines such as, "Hippie tries to give back to the wild" or "Renegade flirts with danger while baiting Grizzlies with baby".lol......anyway, I hope you caught some good footage with that BIG video camera (back then all weighed like 100lbs).
